 EPC light is illuminated.
Workshop findings:
One or more of the following DTCs is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 0001):
 DTC P039B00 (Cylinder 1 pressure too high).
 DTC P03A500 (Cylinder 2 pressure too high).
 DTC P03AF00 (Cylinder 3 pressure too high).
 DTC P03B900 (Cylinder 4 pressure too high).
In addition to the DTCs listed above, one or more of the following DTCs may also be stored:
 DTC P030000 (Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected).
 DTC P030100 (Cylinder 1 misfire detected).
 DTC P030200 (Cylinder 2 misfire detected).
 DTC P030300 (Cylinder 3 misfire detected).
 DTC P030400 (Cylinder 4 misfire detected).
 DTC P130A00 (Hide cylinder).

Technical Background
Due to a software error, the ECM can falsely record engine misfires in the primary detection window. No actual
engine misfires are present until the EPC light is illuminated and the ECM hides a cylinder.

SVM Update Instructions
1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the ECM, J623 (address word 0001) using the SVM action code as listed in the table below, if
necessary. If the new software is already installed in the vehicle but the condition still exists, create a TAC
ticket.
