MAINTENANCE INFORMATION MI16-32 DATE : OCTOBER 2016 SECTION: 01 - Engine SUBJECT : BEARINGS FOR IDLER PULLEYS IMPORTANT NOTICE This modification is recommended by Prevost to increase your vehicle's performance. Note that no reimbursement will be awarded for carrying out this modification. APPLICATION Upon replacement of pulleys used on Prevost vehicles fan and A/C and alternator idlers/tensioners (except commuter vehicles) DESCRIPTION Improved bearings are now available to replace the original bearings used on some Prevost vehicles idler pulleys (see application table below). These bearings, of heavier duty construction, will offer extended durability when compared with the original units. These new bearings will now be installed in older model pulley assemblies sold as replacement parts and will also be offered as a “bearing only” part number (see table 1, current & improved part # columns). New complete idler assemblies equipped with hi-temperature bearings will also be available for customers wanting to replace their current units on vehicles operating in severe conditions and/or hi-temperature environment (see table 1, new & hi-temp part # columns). . The bearings used in these new idlers will offer maximum durability through the use of hi-temperature grease and seals along with an inner steel cage. Also take note that new aramid alternator are available to complement the installation. These belts combined with the new idlers/bearings will provide even greater durability.
