Initial publication
• The engine warning light is on after engine replacement.
• The engine is not running roughly. However, the engine control module, J623 (address word 01), is storing one
or more of the following engine misfire fault codes: DTC P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, or P0304.
• The fault codes occur at light load, between 8% and 14% accelerator pedal position.
Technical Background
The programmed values for the misfiring recognition are not automatically reset by deleting the memory once.

(OBD) capable systems >> 01 – Engine Electronics | J623 >> 01 – Engine Electronics, functions >> 01 Resetting Misfire Adaptions.
Tip: Try to reproduce the condition so that it can be clearly assigned to this bulletin. The model/type and
engine code must match exactly. Otherwise, this solution will not work and repeat repairs may necessary. In such
cases, the warranty claim may be rejected.
