Technical Service Bulletin Service 1. Confirm that misfire faults are stored in the ECM memory. 2. Disconnect the connectors from the ignition coils by first pushing the connector towards the ignition coil, then pulling the release tab with thumb, then pulling the connector off the ignition coil (Figure 1). Note: Never use a screw driver, pick or any other tool to unlock and remove the connector, as damage to the connector may occur (Figures 2 and 3). Figure 2. If one of the following part numbers is installed, all four ignition coils will need to be replaced: • 06H 905 115 • 06H 905 115 A • 06H 905 115 B Figure 3. A) part number, B) Bosch symbol. 4. Replace all four ignition coils with part number 07K905715F (ELDOR). Note: Always use special tool T40039 to remove ignition coils (Figure 4). Figure 4. Technical Service Bulletin 5. Erase the DTC memory from the ECM. 6. Test drive the vehicle to verify that the misfire is no longer present. 7. If the misfire is still present, perform further diagnosis via Guided Fault Finding. Warranty This repair only applies to vehicles specified in this TSB. This repair does not apply to any other vehicles and claims for this repair on non-eligible vehicles will not be reimbursed under warranty. Claim Type: Use applicable claim type.
