File in Section: Service Bulletin - Bulletin No.: 16-NA-223 Date: July, 2016 INFORMATION Subject: Traction Control Light Flashes Under Hard Acceleration at Higher Road Speeds Brand: Model: Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GMC All GM Passenger Cars and Trucks Model Year: VIN: from to 2009 2017 from Engine: Transmission: All All to Involved Region or Country North America and N.A. Export Regions Condition Some customers may comment that under hard acceleration at higher speeds, the traction control light will flash. Or, they may come in for ABS or general handling/braking concerns. This may be noticed after a new set of tires have been installed on the vehicle. Cause This may be caused by tires installed not meeting the same tread wear, traction, or temperature ratings. Correction Inspect/ensure that the correct O.E TPC tires are installed on any vehicle that may be in for Service for a traction, stability, ABS or general handling/braking concern. The O.E. tire information can be found in the Parts Catalog by searching using the VIN. The correct size and manufacture of tires will be displayed. U.S. Dealers can also use the fitment guide on www.gmtirebilling.com, or they can call the Tire Hotline at 877-728-4737. If the OE TPC tires are no longer available, then ensure the replacement tires are the same type (summer or all season), size and have the same or higher load and speed rating. Version 1 Modified GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information. Copyright 2016 General Motors LLC. All Rights Reserved. WE SUPPORT VOLUNTARY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION
