GROUP CAMPAIGN DATE Technical Service Bulletin SUBJECT: DECEMBER, 2017 NUMBER 17-01-072 MODEL(S) GENESIS (BH) EQUUS (VI) 2009-2014 GENESIS (BH) AND 2011-2016 EQUUS (VI) ANCHOR PRETENSIONER LABEL INSTALLATION (SERVICE CAMPAIGN T2R) IMPORTANT *** Retail Vehicles *** Dealers must perform this Service Campaign on all affected vehicles whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair. When a vehicle arrives at the Service Department, access Hyundai Motor America's "Warranty Vehicle Information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open Campaigns. IMPORTANT For Genesis (BH) vehicles, please use the same labels as used on Recalls 160/169. For Equus (VI) vehicles, please use labels only provided for Service Campaign T2R. Description: The front seat belt assembly incorporates a seat belt anchor pretensioner fastened to the vehicle’s front seat frame. During vehicle assembly, the anchor pretensioner is fastened to the front seat frame prior to being connected to the seat belt linkage. If, during vehicle repair, the connector does not fully latch when the linkage was pressed onto the connector, the seat belt can detach from the anchor pretensioner. If the seat belt linkage detaches from the anchor pretensioner in a collision, the risk of injury to the occupant is increased. This bulletin describes the procedure to install warning labels on the driver’s and/or passenger’s seat belt assemblies to prevent potential improper reattachment of the anchor pretensioners. NOTICE Please note this is a simple installation that can be performed in the dealer’s service drive in less than 5 minutes.
