CAUSE: This may be because the Auto Stop/Start system can only be robustly diagnosed, starting with the health check application, using the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic system which will indicate the cause of any faults. https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/service/document/856880 11/14/2017 Page 3 of 5 ACTION: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Diagnostic Procedure outlined below. PARTS: No Parts Required TOOLS: Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool with latest SDD software, Calibration File WARRANTY: NOTES: ◾ Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Always refer to JLR claims submission system to obtain the latest repair time. ◾ The JLR Claims Submission System requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero. DESCRIPTION Auto start/stop system inoperative SRO 86.90.89.74 TIME (HOURS) 0.2 CONDITION CODE 42 https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/service/document/856880 CAUSAL PART Refer to the Diagnostic Procedure section 11/14/2017 Page 4 of 5 DESCRIPTION SRO TIME (HOURS) CONDITION CODE CAUSAL PART NOTE: Normal Warranty procedures apply. DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE: SDD This Diagnostic Procedure is only for vehicles requiring the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool with Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD). CAUTIONS: ◾ A Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis / module programming. ◾ All ignition ON/OFF requests must be carried out. Failure to perform these steps may cause damage to control modules in the vehicle. 1 The causal part number will vary depending on the findings of the Diagnostic Procedure. Make sure the relevant causal part number is claimed based on the test results. 2 Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply to the vehicle battery. 3 NOTE: The Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool must be loaded with DVD151.04 Calibration File 282 (or later). https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/service/document/856880 11/14/2017 Page 5 of 5 Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool to the vehicle and begin a new session. 4 Follow the on-screen prompts, allowing the diagnostic tool to read the VIN, identify the vehicle, and initiating the data collect sequence. NOTE: The battery power supply must be disconnected from the vehicle battery. 5 If the hyperlink is not available: 1 Select Diagnosis from the Session Type screen. 2 Select the Selected Symptoms tab. 3 Select one of the following symptoms: Powertrain - Engine system - Starting system - Start-stop system Inoperative 4 Select continue. 5 Select the Recommendations tab. 6 Select Run to perform the 'Powertrain - Auto stop/start system - Health check' option. 6 Follow all on-screen instructions until the application completes successfully. 1 7 8 When all tasks are complete, go to the next Step. Exit the current session. 1 Select the Session tab. 2 Select the Close Session option.
