Take-Off Parts Disposition: N/A Failure Location: Failure Type: SRT Code: CLAIM CODING 043-003-030 Work Accomplished: 340 Responsibility Code: 043-xxx Claim Type: 05 01 C Background A safety regulation promulgated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration provides: "No part of the exhaust system shall leak or discharge at a point forward of or directly below the driver/sleeper compartment." 49CFR 393.83(g). To comply with the strict terms of this regulation, the lower elbow of the exhaust system was designed without a drain hole.
