This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date. Remove the outside door handle cover. A. Remove the hole plug. Figure 1. WITH Lock Cylinder B. Using a T30 torx wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover and the door lock key cylinder (if equipped) as a unit. 1 1 Hole Plug Figure 2. WITHOUT Lock Cylinder 2. Remove the Outside Door Handle Assembly by sliding and pulling it in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown. Remove the screw from the Outside Door Handle Assembly previously removed from the vehicle. Figure 4. NOTICE The screw is secured using thread locking compound. When attempting to remove the screw, use a high quality, #2 Philips screwdriver, with an undamaged tip. To minimize slipping and to reduce the risk of stripping the screw head, apply firm inward pressure while turning the screw. B. Remove the door handle inner from the outside door handle outer cover by rotating it in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown and discard the outside door handle inner. Remove the screw from the NEW Outside Door Handle Assembly. Figure 6. NOTICE The screw is secured using thread locking compound. When attempting to remove screw, use a high quality, #2 Philips screwdriver, with an undamaged tip. To minimize slipping and to reduce the risk of stripping the screw head, apply firm inward pressure while turning the screw. B. Remove the door handle inner from the outside door handle outer cover by rotating it in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown and discard the outside door handle outer cover. 5. Reassemble the outside door handle. A. Install the NEW door handle inner to the OLD outside door handle cover by engaging the 2 tabs. Figure 7. Seat the cover by rotating in the direction indicated by the arrow as shown. Figure 9. C. Apply thread locking compound to the threads of the screw. D. Install screw in the outside door handle. Torque: 2.6 N*m (26.5 kgf*cm, 23 in*lbf) 6. Install the Outside Door Handle Assembly by pushing it in the direction of the arrow as shown. Figure 10. 7. Install the outside handle cover. A. Using a T30 torx socket, install the outside handle cover and the door lock key cylinder (if equipped) as a unit.
