Sealant on micro-encapsulated screw.
Service
If the DTC is logged due to a fault of the vacuum regulator (bank 1 or 2) or the potentiometer for the intake
manifold flap adjustment (bank 1 or 2, G336 or G512) and the vacuum supply of the intake manifold flap
adjustment is not the cause, fit the repair kit 079198135 on both banks. The repair kit consists of one vacuum
regulator, one potentiometer, and one micro-encapsulated bolt.
When fitting the repair kits, proceed according to the Repair Manual, Engine >> 24 Multiport Fuel Injection >>
Vacuum System >> Intake Flap Vacuum Actuator, Removing and Installing >> Intake Flap Vacuum Actuator,
Removing and Installing, cylinder bank 1 (right) and Engine >> 24 Multiport Fuel Injection >> Vacuum System
>> Intake Flap Vacuum Actuator, Removing and Installing >> Intake Flap Vacuum Actuator, Removing and
installing, cylinder bank 2 (left).
Also proceed according to the Repair Manual, Engine >> 24 Multiport Fuel Injection >> Intake Manifold >>
Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor G336, Removing and Installing and Engine >> 24 Multiport Fuel
Injection >> Intake Manifold >> Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor 2 G512, Removing and Installing.
When replacing the potentiometer, the microencapsulated bolt of the potentiometer (Figure
1) must be replaced. The micro-encapsulated
bolt is included in repair kit 079198135.
Tip: The engine does not have to be
removed.
