Introduction
Some vehicles in particular geographic areas may exhibit a condition where the HVAC Evaporator
Drain Hose has become obstructed with an insect nest. An insect repellent drain hose tip (ARINIX®
Tip) is now available to help minimize future occurrences of this environmental condition. For some
models, a new drain hose is required to properly fit the ARINIX® Tip. Follow the procedures in this
bulletin for proper handling and installation of this optional service part.
NOTE
The ARINIX® Tip is NOT registered or labeled for sale or use outside the United States or
Puerto Rico.

Safety Requirements for Handling the ARINIX® Tip (Connector, Water Hose)
• Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining Personal Protection Equipment
(PPE). If no such instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE exist, use detergent and hot water.
Keep PPE separate from other laundry.
• Users should remove PPE immediately after handling this product.
• Wash the outside of the gloves before removing.
• Users should wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, or using the toilet.

Safety Requirements for Handling the ARINIX® Tip (Connector, Water Hose) (Continued)
CAUTION
IF SWALLOWED:
Call the poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have the person sip
a glass of water if able to swallow.
• Do NOT induce vomiting unless instructed by the poison control center or doctor.
• Do NOT give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
IF ON SKIN OR CLOTHING:
Take off the contaminated clothing immediately. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for
15 to 20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
IF IN EYES:
Hold eye open and rinse gently and slowly with water for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove contact lenses
(if present) after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call poison control center or doctor
for treatment advice.

Directions for Use on ALL Repair Procedures
The ARINIX® Tip contains permethrin, a pesticide, as the active ingredient. Please note, it is a
violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Repair Procedure A
1. Follow the instructions provided in the Safety Requirements for Handling the ARINIX® Tip
(Connector, Water Hose) section of this bulletin.
2. Locate the HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose.
3. Following the vehicle specific Repair Manual, remove the HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose.
4. Put on all necessary PPE and install the ARINIX® Tip (Connector, Water Hose) into the NEW
HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin.
5. When installing the ARINIX® Tip, verify it is fully seated in the HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose
as shown in Figure 1.
6. Following the vehicle specific Repair Manual,
install the HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose.

Repair Procedure B
1. Follow the instructions provided in the Safety Requirements for Handling the ARINIX® Tip
(Connector, Water Hose) section of this bulletin.
2. Locate the HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose.
3. Following the vehicle specific Repair Manual, remove the HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose.
4. Put on all necessary PPE and install the ARINIX® Tip into the original HVAC Evaporator Drain
Hose listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin.
5. When installing the ARINIX® Tip, verify it is fully seated in the HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose
as shown in Figure 1.
6. Following the vehicle specific Repair Manual, install the HVAC Evaporator Drain Hose.
