Squeaking Noise Below The Front Seat While Turning and Going Over Bumps
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the bolt and bushing on driver and passenger side seat slide
mechanism to resolve a squeaking issue (Two door models only).

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA,
LATAM, APAC and EMEA.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before November 14, 2016 (MDH 1114XX)
two door models only.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may describe a squeak heard under the front passenger or driver side seat, while
turning or driving over bumps.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom/condition listed above, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE: Position the seat all the way in the forward position before removing.
1. Remove the driver and passenger seat from vehicle. Refer to the detailed service procedures
available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info>23 - Body/Seats/Seat,
Front/Removal.

2. Remove the riser cover (Fig. 1) on the outboard sides of driver and passenger seats.

3. Locate and remove all the bolts and bushings on both driver and passenger side (Fig. 2.) There
are bolts on inboard and outboard sides.

4. Install new bolt and bushing (Fig. 3.) Locate the riser bracket with the curved slot on the
undercut of the bushing (Fig. 4) when reassembling. Tighten bolt to 20 N·m (177 in. lbs).

5. Reinstall riser covers (Fig. 1.) Tighten bolt to 5 N·m (44 in. lbs).
6. Reinstall the seats into the vehicle. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in
DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info>23 - Body/Seats/SEAT, Front/
Installation.
7. Verify that the seat will tip forward freely when actuating the handle on the seat back.
