The tailgate and/or quarter panel trim may show signs of wear or the tailgate may not open correctly.
CAUSE:
This may be caused by the tailgate alignment.
ACTION:
Should a customer express this concern, follow the Workshop Procedure below.

Inspect the Quarter Panel Tailgate Trim for signs of wear.
If the Quarter Panel Tailgate Trim does not show signs of wear, go to step 4.
If the Quarter Panel Tailgate Trim does show signs of wear, go to step 3.

Replace the Quarter Panel Tailgate Trim.

Visually inspect the tailgate for signs of wear.
If the tailgate does not show signs of wear, go to step 6.
If the tailgate does show signs of wear, go to step 5.

NOTE:
The tailgate may also be referred to as liftgate.
Align the tailgate (see TOPIx Workshop Manual section 501-03: Body Closures - Liftgate
Alignment).
