Squeak Noise While Depressing The Clutch Pedal
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves lubricating the clutch pedal return spring.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before August 01, 2015 (MDH
0801XX) equipped with a manual transmission (Sales Code DEH).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Squeak noise from under the dash while depressing or releasing the clutch pedal.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom, perform the Repair Procedure.

NOTE: Each spray can of white lithium lubricant will service approximately 20
vehicles (Shop Supply, Not on Claim).

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Apply a liberal amount of spray white lithium lubricant to the contact area where the
clutch pedal return spring stop tab (1) rests on the underside of the dash panel
cross-car beam, also apply lubricant to the return spring coil (2) and apply lubricant to
contact area where the return spring hook (3) rests against the clutch pedal arm as
shown in (Fig. 1).

2. Depress the clutch pedal several times to work the lubricant into the spring and verify
the squeak noise has been eliminated.
