SITUATION
The coding in these vehicles has the CBS displaying the first brake fluid service as a 36-month interval from the
date of production, instead of the appropriate 24-month interval.
CORRECTION
There is no software solution for this issue.
If an affected vehicle is at your center, the first brake fluid service and the “connected” microfilter service” can be
performed as:


Starting at “112 days” prior to 24 months from the date of production (day 618 and higher);
or

Due
At or after 24 months from the date of production (day 730 and higher).
Once this first brake fluid service is performed and the CBS data is reset, this service interval reverts to every 24
months from the date of the last CBS reset.
Note: Applicable BMW vehicles produced as of July 2013 are excluded from the correction procedure
noted in this Service Information bulletin.
