SUBJECT: GROUP Electrical MODEL All Hybrid Models NUMBER PS581 DATE November 2018 HYBRID HV BATTERY SOC GAUGE This Pitstop provides information regarding the State of Charge (SOC) gauge on all Kia Hybrid (P/HEV) vehicles. Normal operation of the HEV SOC gauge is between 40-60%, depicted by red marks in photos. This is to allow for regeneration and degeneration of the HEV battery. Main examples outside the normal SOC gauge operation: A lower than normal SOC gauge displayed can be caused by extended driving on uphill grades. A higher than normal SOC gauge displayed can be caused by extended driving on downhill grades.
