SITUATION:
A 'Check Pedestrian System' message may be displayed on the Instrument Cluster. Upon further
diagnosis, DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B1475-96 may be stored in the Restraints Control Module
(RCM).
CAUSE:
This may be caused by a RCM software error.
ACTION:
Should a customer express this concern, follow the Diagnostic Procedure below.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE:
CAUTIONS:
A Jaguar Land Rover-approved battery power supply must be connected to the vehicle
startup battery.
All ignition ON/OFF requests MUST be performed; failure to do these steps may cause
damage to vehicle control modules.

Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved battery power supply to the vehicle startup battery.
NOTE:
The Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic equipment must be loaded with
SDD155.04 Software Management Pack v309 (or later).

Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic equipment to the vehicle and begin a
new session.

Follow all on-screen instructions.

Read and clear all DTC.

Switch the vehicle ignition OFF.

Switch the vehicle ignition ON.

Follow all on-screen instructions.

Read all DTC.
If DTC B1475-96 is stored in the Restraints Control Module (RCM), do not
continue with this Technical Bulletin.
Continue diagnosis using TOPIx Workshop Manual section 501-20B:
Supplementary Restraint System - Diagnosis and Testing - Airbag and
Seatbelt Pretensioner Supplemental Restraint System.)
If DTC B1475-96 is not stored in the RCM, go to the next Step.

If the hyperlink is not available:
1 Select Diagnosis from the Session Type screen.
2 Select the Selected Symptoms tab.
3 Select Electrical - Instruments - Information and message center - Message display
area - Body
4 Run and close the Datalogger tool to reveal the 'Extras' tab.
5 Select the Extras tab.
6 Select Run to perform the 'Configure existing module - Restraints control module'
option.

Follow all on-screen instructions until the application finishes successfully.

1 Select the Clear DTCs option following completion of the software download.
2 Follow the on-screen instructions until the application finishes successfully.

Exit the current session.
1 Select the Session tab.
2 Select the Close Session option.

Disconnect the diagnostic equipment and battery power supply from the vehicle.
