Models 166 and 292; Model Year 2016
Correct Torque of Front Left and Right Torsion (Stabilizer) Bar Linkage Nut
Daimler AG (‘DAG’), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain 2016
GLE-Class (166 and 292 platform) vehicles, the threaded connection of the torsion bar may not have
been tightened to specifications. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will correct the torque of the
threaded connection for the left and right torsion bar linkage.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously
repaired.
•
Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as
described.
Approximately 58 vehicles are affected.

Control, and MBUSA-SLP S424HH001, Control of Quality Records.

Procedure
1. Drive vehicle onto vehicle lift and raise.

Torque front left and right torsion (stabilizer) bar linkage nut (arrows, Figure 1) to: 65 Nm.
Note:
Linkage nut (arrows, Figure 1) is located at bottom of steering knuckle.
