Installation Instructions for Fresh Air Line During CCTA Intake Manifold Replacement
Technical Background
Replacement intake manifolds for CCTA engines have an improved intake manifold flap valve -N316.The new N316- valve has 3 hose ports rather than 2 (See Figure 1), requiring a fresh air line be installed during intake
manifold replacement. This fresh air line will prevent dirt and debris from contaminating the -N316- solenoid.

Service
When replacing the intake manifold on a CCTA engine, install the fresh air line to the -N316- valve as outlined
below.
 Connect the fresh air line to the port below the electrical connector end of the solenoid (rear facing port) (See
Figure 1.).

 After attaching the fresh air line to the port, route the fresh air line up and over the intake manifold runners for
cylinders 3 and 4 and secure the line with the attached retaining clips. (See Figure 2 and Figure 3.)

 Using the flat-head Torx screw, secure the fresh air line to the valve cover in the location provided between
ignition coils 2 and 3 (See Figure 4.)
