Technical Background The crankcase breather is only connected to the bank 2 turbocharger inlet. Blow-by gases from the crankcase breather discolor the pipe (Figure 1). This is a normal condition. Figure 1. The pipe on the impeller side of the bank 2 turbocharger is discolored due to blow-by gases from the crankcase breather. Production Solution Not applicable. Service 1. If necessary, explain to the customer that this is a normal condition. 2. Do not replace any parts due to this condition.
