Complaint:
After ignition ON, the following message is shown on the instrument cluster:
- "Unavailable! - ESP - Service Required"
In addition,
- engine start is not possible on the first attempt
- low beams may be permanently ON
Note:
The ESP control unit (N30-4) may not appear in the quick test. If the ESP control unit (N30-4) appears in the quick
test, one of the following codes (DTC) may be logged:
- P0606E9
- P0607EC
- P060647
Note:
Once the vehicle is started the ESP system operates as designed.
Cause:
Possibly ESP control unit software.
Remedy:
Do not replace the control unit.
Update ESP software.
