SUBJECT: Oil Filter Change - Procedure Update
MODELS: Levante (M161), Quattroporte (M156) and Ghibli (M157) V6 (Gas Engines)
Dear Dealer Network,
This Letter is to inform you that the procedures to follow when changing the oil filter have
been updated. The new procedures are now included in the Technical Documentation
Workshop Manuals as listed below.

M156 Quattroporte - Workshop Manual Section: 00.20.003 - 53
M157 Ghibli – Workshop Manual Section: 00.20.003 - 53
The new procedures now include removing the residual oil in the filter housing before
removing the oil filter as shown below.

Using an oil suction pump, remove all of the residual oil from between the filter and
housing first (Fig.1), and then remove the residual oil from the center of the filter (Fig.2).
