Complaint:
Noise in center console area of W166.
Cause:
Creaking at clip fasteners and contact points of various components.
Remedy:
Complaint/specific application of greases and special lubricants from the noise reduction service set ("Noise Kit").
1. Noise in cup holder area:
Replace front cup holder (valid up to 31.7.2012)
2. Noise in center console ramp area:
Apply thin coat of special lubricant (A000 989 35 60) between center console ramp and cockpit.
Mounting console does not need to be removed here (see picture 1)
3. Noise in central operating unit (COU) faceplate area:
Replace COU faceplate.
4. Noise in armrest handle area:
Unclip cover in direction of travel (picture 2). Check felts and install felts if missing (red arrow).
Apply special lubricant (A000 989 35 60) at marked points (marked in blue).
