Reason for block
Complaint:
The engine intermittently has reduced output and the engine diagnosis warning lamp is/was active.
One or more of the faults relating to the intake manifold pressure sensor listed under 'Control unit / Fault code' may be
stored in the engine control unit.
Cause:
Possible transition resistances in engine wiring harness.
Remedy:
- Check engine compartment wiring harness for chafe marks and repair if necessary.
- Check ground connections of engine control unit and clean/repair if necessary.
If no noticeable problems are found, perform the following work:
- Cut the Z-connector sleeves (Z7/41, Z7/44, see Figure 1 for location) out of the wiring harness and repair using a
solder connector; insert an extension piece with solder connectors if necessary.
Note:
In warranty cases the Z-connector sleeves must be sent in together with the quick test and the fault freeze frame data
if necessary.
