SS 1034615 Western Star Velvac Door Mirror Seal Curling Concern: On some Velvac door mirrors the rubber seal begins to curl impacting truck appearance Applicable Vehicles: WST 4700, 4800, 4900, & 6900 Models Solution: The rubber that is rolling back is actually a rubber tape. Originally, the mirrors did not have this tape. Velvac added the tape to address some whistling complaints from customers. Keep in mind many OEMs use this mirror so at this point I am not sure if any of the whistling complaints came from us. Field Containment • Leave the seal as is until the new design is ready. (the seal does not impact mirror functionality) • Pull the tape off from the main seal. (Could cause a whistle) Note: the supplier is working on a new seal design that will eliminate this concern.
