01 Noise from exhaust flaps, DTC P14AC00, P14AB00, P047500, P047700, P049F00 are stored in the ECM 01 20 83 2060429/1 August 31, 2020. Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment All 2017 - 2021 All Not Applicable Condition Customer states: There is noise from the exhaust flap. Or No customer concerns, it is found during PDI or any other diagnostic work. Workshop findings: During a workshop visit the following DTCs (mainly sporadic) about the control motor for the exhaust flap (J883/J945) are stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 0001): DTC P14AC00 (exhaust flap control module 2, mechanical fault). DTC P14AB00 (exhaust flap control module, mechanical fault). DTC P047500 (exhaust flap, electric fault). DTC P047700 (exhaust flap, short circuit to ground). DTC P049F00 (exhaust flap 2 electric fault). Technical Background These DTCs are rare and can occur during unique ambient conditions, which the customer does not notice (usually caused by certain low voltage occurrence when initializing the exhaust flap control motor). Service Use the GFF to ensure that the concern is not caused by a defective component (or such as a damaged cable, incorrectly fitted connector etc.) and that the vehicle is in the standard condition. The DTC can then be deleted and the vehicle returned to the customer. Note: Parts replacement do not solve this issue. Claims for replaced parts will be subject to review.
