GHG17 DD Platform Heavy Duty Oil Pan Drain Plug Inserts
ISSUE
Some GHG17 DD Platform Heavy Duty oil pans may experience an issue with the oil pan drain
plug insert spinning during removal or installation while completing an oil change. Leaking may
also be observed at the drain plug and/or other plugs in the oil pan. This concern is limited to oil
pan part numbers DDE A4730103413 and DDE A4730103513.

CAUSE
This issue is due to a defect in the oil pan.
REQUIRED ACTION
Oil pans must be replaced when failure occurs.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Reference the service procedures in the GHG17 Heavy Duty Workshop Manual (DDC-SVCMAN-0190), the chapter called “Oil Pan” and the respective sections for removal/installation.
CLAIM PROCESS
Normal in-warranty procedures apply. Proactive removal of properly functioning parts is not
allowed under warranty.
