13 MIL on with corrosion marks on the cylinder walls, DTC P030000 is stored in the ECM 13 20 09 2060876/1 October 16, 2020. Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment A8, S8 2019 - 2021 All V8 TFSI Q7, Q8, SQ7, SQ8, and RSQ8 2020 - 2021 All V8 TFSI A6, A7, A6 allroad, A6 Avant, RS6 Avant, S6, S7, and RS7 2021 All V8 TFSI Condition Customer states: MIL on. The engine runs erratically or judders. There is an engine oil consumption concern. Workshop findings: The cylinder wall of the affected cylinder(s) show corrosion marks. The following DTC is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 0001): DTC P030000 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire detected). Technical Background The cylinder walls of the EA825 V8TFSI have an APS coating (atmospheric plasma spraying). The marks are not affecting the APS coating. Production Solution Not applicable. Service Partial, light corrosion observed on the surface of one or several cylinder walls have no influence on the operation of the engine (Figures 1 - 2). The APS coating is unaffected.
