Water intrusion into the cab may be observed around the headliner in
VNL models built for model years 2018 and 2019.

It has been determined that the source of the water is the bolt holes at
the center attachment points for the sun visor. A picture of the a ected
attachment points is shown below.

Repair Time
This repair should be led with warranty for one (1) hour of labor.
Repair
1. Remove the Sun Visor. Refer to steps 1-4 of Operation 8913-03-0201 Sun Visor Complete, Replacement located under the Service tab in
Impact.
The procedure above is for a di erent but similar visor.
Use the procedure for reference, including the torque
speci cation listed.
2. Remove the top bolts for the center supports. Refer to the picture
below.
3. Add a sealing disk to the bolt and reinstall. Torque speci cations
can be found in the Impact procedure.
4. If the sealing strip has an adhesive backing, Clean the inner
surfaces of the mount with an alcohol wipe. Surfaces that the sealing
strips will be applied to need to be clean prior to installation.

5. Add a sealing strip to each mount as shown in the picture above.
The strip should be aligned with the "heel" at the bottom of the mount.
6. Reinstall the sun visor. Refer to the procedure in Step 1 for
information.

89110-2 Sun Visor Complete, Replacement
You must read and understand the precautions and guidelines in Service Information, group 80, "General Safety
Practices" before performing this procedure. If you are not properly trained and certified in this procedure, ask your
supervisor for training before you perform it.
Removal
1
Apply the parking brake and place the shift lever in neutral.

Open the battery box. Disconnect all cables from the negative (ground) battery terminals to prevent personal injury
from electrical shock and prevent damage to electrical components.

Open the hood.

Remove the fasteners securing the sun visor to the mounting brackets and spacers. Disconnect the wiring harness to
the lights (if equipped). With assistance, remove and place the sun visor in a secure location.

Remove the fasteners securing the marker light cover to the sun visor and remove the marker light cover.

Remove the fasteners securing the lights to the sun visor. Disconnect the wiring harness to each light, and remove the
lights.

Install the lights in the replacement sun visor and install the fasteners. Connect the wiring harness to the lights.

Position the marker light cover over the lights and install the fasteners. Tighten the fasteners to secure.

With assistance, position the sun visor onto the mounting brackets and spacers, connect the wiring harness (if
equipped), and install the fasteners. Torque tighten the fasteners to 14±2 Nm (10±1 lb-ft).
Note: Push excess wiring into the visor using care to ensure wiring is not damaged during installation.

Reconnect all previously removed cables to the negative (ground) battery terminals and install the battery box cover.

Check the lights for proper operation (if equipped).

Close the hood.
