Error Displayed In Cluster 104494 Rate This Article (Average Rating: No Rating) Version 4 Language English Printable Version Show Properties Summary: This TST explains the reason a customer may experience, intermittently, a D.E.S.S. error message in the Cluster. Type: General TST Detail: Problem: Intermittently, the ignition key may not be recognized causing the unit not to start. The D.E.S.S. ERROR message will be displayed in the Cluster. Solution: Replace the D.E.S.S. module. NOTE: If after the replacement of this D.E.S.S. module (710004916) the problem reoccurs, update the previously opened BOSSWeb Case or open a BOSSWeb Case and report this situation. Add a picture of the D.E.S.S. module with part number and information on sticker. Parts: Model Year Model Part Number 2014 2015 RS, ST, RT, F3 710004916 Technical Explanation: Refer to TST ROADSTER 2nd Generation D.E.S.S. Principal Of Operation (2014 and Up) to fully understand the principle of operation of the latest D.E.S.S. generation. When the D.E.S.S. module sends its signal to the antenna to read the key chip, the radio frequency produced by the antenna is too strong and the key chip is saturated. This saturation changes the data transmitted back to the D.E.S.S. module causing a bad lecture of the key chip. Warranty: Claim under regular warranty.
