Complaint:
The backrests of the second seat row (60% and 40% side) are offset relative to each other.

Cause:
- Supplier has failed to carry out adjustment
- Accumulation of tolerances
Remedy:
1. Fold the second seat row (60% side) forwards using the electrical switch (briefly press the Easy Entry switch). Immediately afterwards fold the seat row back again until the bench seat is engaged in the lock again (press and hold
the Easy Entry switch). Listen out for any scraping noises when unlocking and locking the bench seat (required for before/after noise comparison).
2. Adjust the backrest angle to its rearmost end stop (operate seat backrest adjustment switch in the door).
3. Remove the front left outer panel (panel is a push-fit) - (pic.1).
4. Drill out the blind rivets on the outer left panel (3 rivets) - (pic.2, pic.3).
5. Drill out the blind rivets on the right-hand panel (2 rivets) - (pic.4).
6. Take off panels.
7. Fold the 40% side forwards using the electrical switch (briefly press the Easy Entry switch to gain access to the
threaded connection on the inner side of the 60% bench seat).
8. Move the 60% bench seat fully forwards (press and hold the fore-aft adjustment switch in the door).
Important: It is essential that the bench seat remains engaged in the lock.

9. First undo, but do not remove, the threaded connection of the seat structure. (pic.5, pic.6)
10. With your hand carefully pull or push the backrest to align it with the 40% seat backrest
**NOTE** If alignment is not possible --> Repeat points 1.-10. on the 40% side
11. Tighten the threaded connections.
12. Repeat point 1(compare before/after noise and perform function test).
13. Unscrew each screw individually, clean the screw and the threaded hole, apply fresh thread lock (Loctite 243) and
tighten to 30±2Nm (do not undo the next screw until you have completed all steps for the previous threaded connection).
14. Install the panels (2 riveted panels, 1 push-fit panel).
**NOTE** As a result of optimization measures, it is possible that new seat structures on the 40% side may only have
2 screws instead of 3 (pic.7).
