Technical Background
Multifunction switch assembly can incorrectly detect input from the hazard switch.
Production Solution
Improved switch assembly installed in production.
Service
1. Confirm the customer's concern using the battery history data. Battery history data can provide evidence that
the hazard lights were actuated during a standing time.
2. If the time and date are close to the customer concern or the concern can be duplicated in service, replace
the multifunction switch containing the hazard switch.
Tip: For customer concerns relating to false alarm activations, make sure to clarify with the customer if
the alarm horn was heard or not. Alarm trigger data should be reviewed in these cases to ensure there is not
another root cause.
In these cases, this TSB does not apply and continue diagnosing the cause outside of this TSB.
