BROKEN INTERIOR SLIDING DOOR HANDLE - BUILT ON OR BEFORE 1/4/2016 TSB 16-0051 FORD: 2015-2016 Transit ISSUE Some 2015-2016 Transit vehicles built on or before 1/4/2016 may experience a broken interior sliding door handle due to the sliding door lower roller assembly. ACTION Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Does the vehicle have a broken interior sliding door handle? a. Yes - proceed to Step 2. b. No - this article does not apply. 2. Replace the interior sliding door handle. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-14. 3. Replace the sliding door lower roller assembly. Refer to WSM, Section 501-03. To help maintain original door adjustment, do not remove the angle bracket from the sliding door. (Figures 1 and 2) Figure 1 - Article 16-0051 Figure 2 - Article 16-0051 b. Tighten the sliding door lower roller assembly to angle bracket nuts to 30 N•m (24 lb-ft). 4. With the sliding door latched in the fully open position, check the latch in the lower roller for binding on the striker; the latch should have some free play. Adjust the striker as required. WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB.
