BULLETIN NOTES APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS 1992-1995 929 1992-1995 MX-3 1990-1997 MX-5 1993-1995 RX-7 1993-1995 MX6 1993-1995 626 1995-1997 Millenia DESCRIPTION 929 RX-7 MX-3 MX-6 626 If "ERR" is flashing, this means that the ANTI-THEFT function of the radio has been activated, and the radio will become inoperative. MX-5 (Miata) There are three different procedures depending on the type of radio that the vehicle is equipped with, make sure the correct procedure is used to enter the "Master Code". NOTE: To identify the audio unit refer to the model number located on the faceplate. Millenia The audio system of the Millenia becomes inoperative after battery power is interrupted, the customer attempts to change the code or the customer enters a new code improperly. The radio display then reads "ERR". REPAIR PROCEDURE In order to enable the radio, follow the steps below: 929 RX-7 MX-3 MX-6 626 If "ERR" is flashing, this means that the ANTI-THEFT function of the radio has been activated, and the radio will become inoperative. 1. Push the "scan" button. 2. Push the AM/FM button. 3. Push the "AUTO-MEMORY" button. 4. Push the "TUNE-UP" button. The display should read (--------). 5. Using the preset buttons, enter the specific code for the vehicle: 929 = 4989 Page 1 of 3 03/02/2022 04:05 PM cciz RX-7 = 1414 MX-3 = 0532 626 / MX-6 = 0532 1. Push the "SCAN" and "AUTO-M" buttons simultaneously. 2. The display will read "GOOD" and the radio will be corrected. PANASONIC MODEL 1161 AND 1267: (Before 11/95 Production) 1. Press preset button #1 (these buttons are numbered 1 thru 6). 2. Press the "STOP/EJECT" button. 3. Press the "AM/FM" button. 4. Press the "CLOCK" button. The display should read (- - - -). 5. Using the preset buttons enter the master code: 4989. 6. Press and hold both the "REW" and "FF" buttons until the display reads "777". 7. The audio unit will return to clock mode and is now reset. PANASONIC MODEL 1273: (1996 Miata from 11/95 Production) MX-5 (Miata) There are three different procedures depending on the type of radio that the vehicle is equipped with, make sure the correct procedure is used to enter the "Master Code". NOTE: To identify the audio unit refer to the model number located on the faceplate. 1. Press the "SCAN" button. 2. Press the "AM/FM" button. 3. Press the "AUTO-M" button. 4. Press the "TUNE-UP" button. The display should read (- - - ). 5. Using the preset buttons (1 thru 4), enter the master code: 4989. 6. Push the "SCAN" and "AUTO-M" buttons simultaneously. 7. The display will read "GOOD" and the radio is now reset. PIONEER MODEL 6270: (Mazda Sensory Sound System with integrated CD) NOTE: The 1993 - 1994 Miata does not have anti-theft feature. For 1995/96 model year, please follow the procedure below: 1. Press the "TRACK/TUNE/REW/FF" button ( the side with the symbol v). 2. Press the "FM1/2" button. 3. Press the "AUTO MEMO" button. 4. Press the "TAPE" button. The display should read (- - - -). 5. Using the preset buttons (1 thru 4) enter the master code: 5011. 6. Simultaneously press the "TRACK/TUNE/REW/FF" button, ( the side with the symbol v), and the "AUTO MEMO" buttons and hold for 1.5 seconds. 7. The display will read "GOOD" and the audio unit is now Page 2 of 3 03/02/2022 04:05 PM cciz reset. NOTE: IF THE RADIO DISPLAY SHOWS "CODE", PRESS AND HOLD THE "TRACK V" AND "AUTO-MEMO" BUTTONS UNTIL BARS ARE DISPLAYED. ENTER A FALSE 4 DIGIT CODE AND PRESS "TRACK V" AND "AUTO-MEMO" BUTTONS FOR 2 SECONDS UNTIL A BEEP IS HEARD. PERFORM THIS 2-3 TIMES UNTIL DISPLAY READS "ERROR". USE PROCEDURE ABOVE TO UNLOCK RADIO. Retrieval procedure requires the key to be in the "on" position and the radio "OFF". Press the radio buttons in the order indicated: SCAN AM AUTO-M FM 1/2 Millenia The audio system of the Millenia becomes inoperative after battery power is interrupted, the customer attempts to change the code or the customer enters a new code improperly. The radio display then reads "ERR". At this point, there should be a display of four dashes. 1. Press preset button #1 until the first dash reads 4. 2. Press preset #2 until the second dash reads 9. 3. Press preset #3 until the third dash reads 8 4. Press preset #4 until the fourth dash reads 9. 5. Then press the SCAN and AUTO-M buttons simultaneously for two seconds. You should hear a beep, and the display should read: • For 1995 - 1996 model year - should read 777 • For 1997 - 1997 model year - should read Good If this does not happen, repeat the procedure.
