Technical Service Bulletin 50 Creaking noise in front instrument panel area 50 22 09 2066526/1 March 22, 2022. Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment A8, S8 (4N8) 2019 – 2021 All A8, S8 (4NL) 2022 000001 - 001988 Not Applicable Condition Customer states: During steering or braking maneuvers the customer hears a creaking noise in the front of the vehicle. The customer reports the origin of the noise to be from the front suspension and/or from the instrument panel. Workshop findings: The symptom is easily replicable during a test drive. The NVH tool or chassis ears set is used and the source of the noise is found to be specifically from the front suspension strut towers. Technical Background A visual inspection finds the mounting bolts for the front suspension strut tower brace not tightened. This allows the front suspension strut towers to move slightly in steering or braking maneuvers and generates a creaking noise between the brace and the strut tower. Figure 1. The strut brace bolts that are found loose after visual inspection. Production Solution © 2022 Audi of America, Inc. Page 1 of 3 All rights reserved.
