Technicall Description:
–
Engine ‘knocking’ noise on start up after a new AJ20-D4 service engine has been fitted.
Status:
–
Repair process on TOPIx for long/stripped engine assembly is not being adhered to,
specifically regarding the installation and programming of the fuel injectors.
–
They must be fitted to the adjacent cylinder as shown in the TOPIx procedure ( 30301A) ,
This allows the PCM to reset the fuelling adaptions and will allow successful injector
programming to take place (injector programming/resetting adaptions is required upon
completion of the new engine installation as detailed in the TOPIx procedure).
