DESCRIPTION
Some customers may complain the HVAC system not maintaining the correct temperature or the ambient (outside)
temperature reading incorrectly. This is caused by a failure in the ambient temperature sensor. To correct this issue, the
ambient temperature sensor has been modified.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Inspect the ambient temperature sensor connector and harness and verify the condition of the harness.
Is the Harness OK?
• Yes - Go to next step.
• No - Repair as necessary, then go to next step.

3. Remove ambient temperature sensor according the the instructions in MGSS online and verify the LOT Number.

Example: 2021 12 AS 0411 = Dec/2021

4. Check the lot number.
Is the lot number before Lot 0411 of 2021/Dec?
• Yes - Confirm Lot number of new sensor is Lot 0411 of 2021/Dec or later then replace the ambient temperature
sensor according to the instructions in MGSS online (see step 3).
• No - This service information does not apply. Refer to to normal MGSS troubleshooting.
5. Verify the repair.
