LINK-WIPER, NO 1 (drive link) Figure A Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/4 SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Remove the wiper drive assembly (Figure 1) from the vehicle and place on a clean work surface. Refer to the ESM: DRIVER CONTROLS > WIPER & WASHER > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT WIPER DRIVE ASSEMBLY > Removal and Installation Drive link Wiper motor Wiper pivot arm Figure 1 2. If moved, the motor can be reset by: a. Reinstalling wiper drive assembly (but without wiper arms) into the vehicle. Separate here b. With the Ignition in the accessory position, turn the wiper switch ON and then OFF; this will cause the wiper motor to return to the park position. Figure 2 3. Remove the nut and lock washer that holds the wiper motor arm to the wiper drive assembly (Figure 3). Hold the wiper motor arm with a suitable tool to prevent the wiper motor shaft from moving. Nut and lock washer HINT: An expandable wrench can be used to prevent the arm from moving. 4. Remove the wiper motor arm from the wiper motor shaft. Hold wiper motor arm steady. Figure 3 2/4 NTB15-093C Install New Wiper Drive Link Drive link HINT: The new drive link includes the wiper motor arm. They are now one part that does not separate. Wiper motor arm 5. Drive link HINT: o Do not attach the drive link to the wiper pivot arm ball pin yet. o Do not rotate the motor shaft. Wiper motor arm directly under drive link 7. Hold the wiper motor arm in the alignment from step 6 and rotate the drive link out of the way to expose the drive motor shaft (Figure 6). Wiper pivot arm ball pin (drive link removed) 8. Install the lock washer and the wiper motor nut onto the drive motor shaft (Figure 6). Drive link 9. Torque motor shaft nut. Torque: 22.1 N•m (2.25 kg-m, 16 ft-lb) Hold the wiper motor arm with a suitable tool to prevent the drive motor shaft from moving.
