Important: Improvements to Technical Information Titles
in ElsaPro
Technical Challenge:
In response to technician feedback, Service Information is pleased to announce upcoming
changes to ElsaPro. Through multiple feedback channels (Elsa Feedback, Carlisle, Dealer Visits),
we have learned that some technical information is difficult to locate in Elsa. By analyzing your
comments and responses, we have found that many of your comments are related to two topics:
1. Inconsistent naming of folders and links in Elsa
2. Improper naming/description of folders and Links in Elsa
We have addressed the two issues above and will make the changes described below on Nov.
10, 2014.
Resolution:
To make it easier to locate information in Elsa, we have worked with the Factory to make the
following changes:
1. Inconsistent Naming: On the home page of Elsa, rename the Systems menu link “Notes”
to “Special Repair Information” to better describe the list it displays.
This link lists the PSS
links relevant for the vehicle VIN that has been entered.
2. Improper Naming: To match the link description, the name of the folder where the
information is stored will now be labeled with the same description.
a. The folder titled “Vehicle-specific service information” will change to “Special
Repair Information”.
This folder contains the PSS documents that are listed in the “Special Repair
Information” link on the Systems menu.
b. The “Technical Product Information” folder, which contains the Technical
Bulletins, will be properly retitled “Technical Service Bulletins”.
c. The “Service TPI” folder will be retitled “Technical Product Information”.
This folder contains any non-warranty related information that provides Tech
Tips and/or hints to help with repairs.

Open ODIS Issues
1. Text Strings – A line (or lines) of text not translated correctly and displayed as text strings
– for example, a string of characters like - No I18N:
(080045218003de4f).(TXLABEL9) is displayed in place of menu items or text within a
test function.
2. Vehicle automatic identification issues. Some vehicles are not automatically identified
during the vehicle system test or the correct model may not be available in the drop
down menu. For these vehicles it will be necessary to identify the vehicle manually. An
update is pending.
To get these issues corrected as soon as possible, please submit a new feedback each time
you experience these issues.

In rare cases, it is possible that the front airbags in the affected vehicles may not
deploy in a crash as designed, due to an improper algorithm/coding within the
airbag control module. Front seat occupants may not have the intended protection
from the frontal airbag system in a secondary impact, putting them at risk for injury.
There have been no reports of accidents or injuries as a result of this concern in the
United States.

An improperly assembled seatback recliner retaining bracket may not engage
correctly in some affected vehicles, causing the seatback to shift fore and/or aft with
minimal effort. Should this movement occur unexpectedly with the driver’s seatback,
it could startle the driver and lead to a crash. In a crash, if the movement occurs
with either driver or front passenger seat, it poses a risk of injury to the seat
occupant(s).
