Malfunction in cooling system • P017B00 - Cylinder head temperature sensor implausible signal • P017C00 - Cylinder head temperature sensor short circuit to ground • P017E00 - Cylinder head temperature sensor open circuit/loose contact Technical background Revision history - TPI 2070041/2 The Warranty accounting instructions have been updated to align with the repair manual instructions within Rep.Gr 19 The plastic housing of the coolant temperature sensor G407 may not be correctly sealed against coolant vapour therefore damage to the O-ring located at the tip of the sender may allow moisture to enter the sensor element and restrict the function of the component Note: The restrictions in some cases may be temporary In the event the issue is as described the operative should refer to the instructions within the Measure section of this TPI Production change - Measure Before continuing with the onward instructions the operative must raise a technical DISS query to request permission to replace the coolant temperature sensor G407, ensuring a current up to date ODIS log is attached 1) Referring to Rep.Gr 19 coolant temperature sensor (V8 biturbo) - Remove G407 • Check if the O-ring located directly at the tip of the coolant temperature sender (Figure 1) is visibly damaged/pinched Figure 1 INTERNAL • In the event the O-ring is damaged / pinched replace G407 including O-ring Hint: Attach photographs of the G407 O-ring to the open DISS query, any damage should be highlighted 2) In the event that no issues are found with the O-ring - Refer to the applicable circuit diagram, conduct an electrical integrity check of the applicable circuit • In the event the wiring circuit and connections are to specification and one or a combination of the DTC’s remains please replace G407 including the O-ring as per Rep.Gr 19 Warranty accounting instructions Warranty type 110 or 910 Damage service number 19 78 Damage code 00 10 New Continental GT / GTC and New Flying Spur Time to replace G407 Labour operation code 19 78 19 23 (Use 99 index until 08/02/24) Time 90 TU Bentayga (All V8 Kovomo models) Time to replace G407 Labour operation code 19 78 19 23 (Use 99 index until 08/02/24) Time 40 TU Time to remove and refit the front end module (17MY to 20MY) Labour operation code 50 38 19 00 Time 760 TU Time to remove and refit the front end module 21MY onwards) Labour operation code 50 38 19 20 Time 800 TU Alignment of applicable driver assist systems (Depending on vehicle specification) • Vehicle front + rear measured wheel alignment checked -
