DTC B1086, sometimes indicated as B108600 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a manufacturer-specific fault with the vehicle body.
2009 NISSAN ROGUE with 148494. miles
We were attempting to remove the propeller shaft to the rear wheels as the universal joints had worn out and the propeller shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was up in the air on a hoist.The ignition was in the off position, front & rear bolts to propeller shaft were removed, one of the two bolts for the mid-ship mount was out. Our technician then heard what sounded like a firecracker go off. What we found was that the side air bags had deployed! We then accessed the fault codes in the srs system and found the following. B1211 rollover detection, B1081 & B1086 pretensioner rt ft & lt ft (open),B1145 & B1150 curtain module (open), B1177 ft rt seat belt pretensioner, & B1018 occupant sensor (unit fail). When we checked with the Nissan dealer in kalamazoo, they sent us a tsb, dated 01/27/2014 # ntb08-055c which addresses problems Nissan is having with all vehicles!! We have found numerous instances of this happening to owners of Nissan's. We were using no power tools on the vehicle when this happened. I feel that these bags are deploying on people and causing accidents not the other way around. These vehicles need to be recalled. We have saved the parts that were replaced to get the vehicle repaired, for your inspection. There are many complaints from Nissan owners, on line, that the side air curtains have deployed, at stop lights, when shutting doors, driving out driveways etc. Thank you in advance for looking into this matter.

2007 NISSAN SENTRA with 50115.0 miles
8/20/13 @ 50115 miles: vehicle air bag light was on and blinking. Nissan tech found history code 1086 stored. L/f pretensioner failed. Tech performed air bag system reprogram, which cleared the air bag light and all failure codes. 2/19/14 @ 52624 miles: vehicle air bag light was on and blinking. Nissan tech found failure code B1086 stored. Pre ten front l/h open. Internal failure in l/f seatbelt assembly. Tech replaced l/f seatbelt assembly. Cleared failure codes and verified none returned. 7/8/14 @ 55300 miles: vehicle air bag light was on and blinking. Nissan tech found failure code B1086 stored. Dealership recommended replacing air bag diagnostic unit. If that does not work, dealership recommends replacing air bag harness.
