2009 NISSAN ROGUE with 148494. miles

We were attempting to remove the propeller shaft to the rear wheels as the universal joints had worn out and the propeller shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was up in the air on a hoist. The ignition was in the off position, front & rear bolts to propeller shaft were removed, one of the two bolts for the mid-ship mount was out. Our technician then heard what sounded like a firecracker go off. What we found was that the side air bags had deployed! We then accessed the fault codes in the srs system and found the following. B1211 rollover detection, B1081 & B1086 pretensioner rt ft & lt ft (open),B1145 & B1150 curtain module (open), B1177 ft rt seat belt pretensioner, & B1018 occupant sensor (unit fail). When we checked with the Nissan dealer in kalamazoo, they sent us a tsb, dated 01/27/2014 # ntb08-055c which addresses problems Nissan is having with all vehicles!! We have found numerous instances of this happening to owners of Nissan's. We were using no power tools on the vehicle when this happened. I feel that these bags are deploying on people and causing accidents not the other way around. These vehicles need to be recalled. We have saved the parts that were replaced to get the vehicle repaired, for your inspection. There are many complaints from Nissan owners, on line, that the side air curtains have deployed, at stop lights, when shutting doors, driving out driveways etc. Thank you in advance for looking into this matter.

2004 TOYOTA COROLLA with 222699. miles

Takata recall: i took my Toyota Corolla in for the seat belt recalls. The seat belt light was not on when i took it in for repair. After repair the seat belt light was on. The obdii code is B1182 ' short in d squib circuit to ground. The airbag (srs) light may illuminate with code B1177 and/or B1182, related to the front seat belt pre-tensioners. The dealership says they did the recall repair and the light being on is my problem. The pretensioners are related to the recall. How do i know, who do i ask who do i go to (and trust) whether the recall repair was done ' if at all. Why is the light on after repair and not before? Seeking to understand.

    2004 INFINITI QX56 with 113663. miles

We currently own a 2004 Infiniti Qx56. We have received error code B1177 which is for the pretensioner in seatbelts. Additionally, the airbag light is flashing. We understand from the dealership that the airbag light came on due to the battery being replaced and that it needed to be reset. The airbag light came bag on shortly thereafter and we took the vehicle to a private mechanic who scanned the code. He advised us of the error code and what it was associated with. Upon further investigation, it appears that an extensive amount of owners of the Infiniti Qx56 as well as the nissan armada (sister vehicle) have this exact issue. We are unsure as to whether the airbags will fail if involved in an accident or if the safety belts will also not work. The vehicle has a 10 year seatbelt warranty but the dealers are stating that this item is not covered under warranty. This is obvious neglect and defect on the manufacturer's part and puts the owners of these vehicles at serious risk. We are a family of 5 with 3 small children. We cannot afford to purchase a new vehicle or to pay thousands of dollars to correct this safety related issue. Please advise.
