As i was driving home after work on friday around 2130, i was driving on the expressway about 65-70mph when i noticed that the car was declining in speed without me letting up on the gas pedal. I was in a fair amount of traffic with a semi behind me, i pressed down further on the gas pedal to try and increase speed while looking for a way to safely get off of the expressway. The car initially did not speed back up, after approximately 10-15 seconds, it sped back up. The car did this three times during my, normally 25 minute, drive home. This was extremely scary, especially being in heavy chicago traffic. I called the dealership first thing saturday morning and made an appointment to get it checked. The first available appointment was today, tuesday, and i had the vehicle there at 0700. The vehicle was scanned and pulled several codes: C1283, C1213, C1513, B1102, b112, C1334, C1335, C1126, C1662, C1312, C1314, and C1315. They then performed individual code diagnostics and traced code failures to yaw-rate sensor, brake pedal position sensor and evap purge solenoid. Estimated $1276.97 + tax.

Thankfully, my situation doesn't yet include any type of accident. My airbag light came on around august, 2014. I purchased the car used in january of that same year from a Hyundai dealership. It was only 3 years old, so i didn't think the indicator light was anything serious, maybe just a sensor. I serviced the car on sept. 17, 2014 for a different problem, and the tech noted the airbag light was on. I declined to do repairs or diagnostics because i had just paid several hundred dollars that day. When i serviced the car september, the following year (sep 17, 2015) i requested they check the airbag. They kept the car overnight, unable to establish the source of the problem -- in fact they had to consult a Hyundai expert out-of-house. Eventually they told me the whole driver side airbag assembly needed replacement - $1,100. The paperwork lists "airbag B1102 bat voltage low, B1346 resistance too high, needs new air bag assy." my concern is that a car only 3 years old needs a new air bag. Until i'm able to afford a new one, mine still doesn't work. Given the other electrical issues in the car, i have to wonder if other Hyundai owners have had similar problems. I hope this information is helpful, and perhaps prevents serious injury due to faulty air bag assembly units.

2008 SUZUKI FORENZA with 34500.0 miles

Bought vehicle approx 1 1/2yrs ago. It had about 26,000 miles. It now has approx 34,500 ad still has the Suzuki warranty. I just had to replace a transmission rang senor and now being told codes B1382, b114, B1102, B1103, B1405 came on and needs replacement of diagnostic module and passenger airbags!! I feel this should be under warranty since this is a huge safety issue! I am told it will cost $1400.00 and the airbags won't deploy until i get work done! I simply cannot afford this!!! This "sensor module" seems defective to me if all these problems keep arising. Also the tire pressure sensor will not turn off since time of purchase.

Dealer found codes B1706 and B1102 present. Dealer tech stated driver seat belt buckle needs replacing, with an estimated cost of $344.56. The srs module is not allowing codes to be reset, needs replacing also, with an estimated cost of $1,004.00. I see nhtsa has just started investigating the B1706 code -- my understanding from reading the other complaints is that a short circuit is causing the error code, and replacing the seat belt assembly is not permanently fixing the problem for most owners. Most owners mention repeat bills of about $350, but a few of the complaints mention much higher repair estimates, over $1,000. I suspect these estimates include replacement of the srs module, like my estimate did. Nhtsa should consider whether there is also a rash of srs module failures due to the same short circuit. My B1102 code, indicating a high-voltage error, could also be more common and could also be caused by the same short circuit.

Recently suddenly airbag light came on and it now stays on all the time after starting the car. When i start the car, it blinks once and then remain lit. I used the code reader to get the codes and it gave two codes for airbag system, B1102 and B1448. On further googling, the 1st code indicates low input voltage and 2nd one indicates passenger occupant detecting system fault. Now i am concerned to use the car as the air bag system is turned off .

2006 KIA SEDONA with 165107. miles

After a few years of owning the van my battery died. I replaced the battery but because of the low battery voltage it caused the airbag light to illuminate [code: "B1102-ub (vb ?) low voltage (<8v)"]. When the is light on none of the airbags will function in an accident. Even though there is nothing wrong with the system, the light can only be shut off (and thus make the airbags functional) by clearing the code with a special reader that only the dealerships appear to have. The dealership will only do this if you pay $280. This is outrageous, there's no reason the airbag system shouldn't function after the code has been resolved. I feel like this is extortion from Kia. The federal government mandates that cars have to have airbags you would expect that they would be required to work if there is nothing wrong with the system.

The air bag warning light is illuminated on the dashboard and the service representative at Hyundai say that it is related to the pretensioner on the passenger side and a voltage discrepancy from the battery codes B1102 and B1706.

2006 SUZUKI RENO with 20788.0 miles

Air bag light has been on almost continuously since october 2007 (vehicle purchased new in june 2006). Dealer in nevada checked vehicle october 2007 (mileage 20,788), found codes B1102 low battery voltage and B1378 drivers side resistance too high. Cleared codes, tightened connector under passenger seat (no cost); light was off for about a week then back on. Dealer advised i should just snug up the connector under passenger seat to resolve indicator light and i did this regularly for several years until light wouldn't go out anymore. March 2011 (mileage 62,751) dealer in washington checked car, found codes B1382 right side resistance and B1378 left front side resistance. Cleared codes, cleaned, tightened, and added stabilizer to connectors (charged $105); light was off about 2 days then back on. Air bag light has been on ever since (currently 94,950 miles as of november 18, 2014).
