2007 TOYOTA 4RUNNER

Codes P1442, P1445, P2441, P1441. Had to install a new secondary air injection system. Defective emissions system. I (service station) mistakenly bypassed the system in order to save several thousand dollars when the sais was known to be defective in these vehicles.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER,

2006 TOYOTA TUNDRA with 123970. miles

Secondary air injection pump needs replaced. Code P1441 and P1444 error code. This recall only effects 2007-2009 models although the same problem was happening in 2005 and 2006. Mine being a 2006 isn't covered by a recall for the same issues. This is a 2k plus job. Thanks

2006 LEXUS GX470 with 125000. miles

I have an 2006 Lexus Gx470 and these lights came on: abs, vsc trac, vsc off, skid, and check engine. The vehicle started making a humming noise at start up and now drives in stalled mode. Had codes check and it turns out i have the dreaded secondary air injection system (emissions) defect P0412, P0418 ,P1440/P1443, P1441/P1444, P2440, P2445, P1442/P1145 , which is a recurring problem. Replacement is a nightmare for self repair or a $2000+ repair.

Vehicle startup started to make loud noise at startup. Sounds like electric vacuum. Secondary air valve . Bank 1 obdii code P1441.
ENGINE,

2005 TOYOTA SEQUOIA

I have vsc trac, vsc off, and check engine. If you give it a lot of fuel, it just sounds like it wants to go, but it doesn't translate into power in the rear end. I use my code reader and it showed codes P1441 and P1444. Says i may have: a) faulty vacuum switching valve (vsv) for air injection control circuit, b)faulty air switching valve number 2, or c)faulty vsv for air injection system. This is the second time this happened to my Sequoia, and this seems to be a recurring issues for Toyota Sequoia owners and in fact it is a recurring issues for other models as well. This cost me approximately $2200 last time and now 2 years later it is back for another $2200 to repair. It's all the over the internet about this vsc trac, vsc off, and check engine, it needs to be recalled!

2001 NISSAN FRONTIER with 999999. miles

My 2001 Nissan Frontier has had five recalls. The recall that i am unsatisfied with is related to the fuel system: the nov. 2002 recall of the fuel storage tank and the may 2004 recall of the fuel pump. These repairs are pending and have been since june 30, 2008. The fuel tank is unavailable and has been for 108 days, as of today oct. 15. It has been inoperable and has been at the dealer since june 30. Original issue began on june 13, 2008. The vehicle struggled to turn over, emitted heavy dark exhaust, the smell of gasoline was present, the service-engine light went on and i experienced a loss of power while getting it to the fitzgerald auto mall dealer in chambersburg pa. The required work was completed on june 18. The repair work included replacing the knock sensor (code P0325) and related gaskets, replacing the vent control valve and charcoal canister (code P1441). There was no mention of any recall work regarding the fuel system. I drove the truck for six days. On june 29 the exact same symptoms appeared. I got the truck home (barely) and called the service manager. On june 30, the diagnosis came back. Same problem, different diagnosis. The codes were pulled and P1441 came up again, but this time the required part to repair the vehicle is a new fuel storage tank-- a part that was recalled. My repairs in june were in excess of $1200. I also needed a loaner vehicle at $35 a day . I am out $$1,636.42 and have made 7 bi-weekly car payments at $144 for a truck i can't drive. The regional specialist for Nissan has promised to take care of the payment and reimbursement for the repairs, but has not delivered yet. Nissan won't reimburse until the part is in the vehicle. My case number with Nissan is 6262993. The part is "due" at the dealer the last week of october, however a recall repair should not take 4 months. My complaint is not with the chambersburg dealer but with Nissan north america.

2000 NISSAN ALTIMA with 150000. miles

I was driving the car and all seemed normal, until i pulled into a gas station to refuel. Surprisingly i could not get more than 1/4 gallon into the tank before the pump kicked off and gasoline spit out of the filler neck and all over the ground. My fuel gauge was at about 1/4 tank, so i knew i needed about 11 gallons. I continued to put fuel into the tank at a very slow rate, and the pump kept kicking off and fuel spitting out of the tank filler neck. I finally got 8 gallons into the tank and so i stopped there. Shortly after leaving the gas station my check engine light came on. I got home and hook up my code reader, and it returned a code P1441. Some problem with the evap system. I did some research and found that Nissan dealerships have a service bulletin about this problems dating back quite a few years, but do not want to repair the problem free of charge. Dealers want about $100 to analyze the problem and about $400 to repair the car. I believe this could be a big safety issue when people with a 2000 Altima try to fuel up their car and gasoline keeps spitting out of the filler neck of the gas tank.
