2010 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT with 93525.0 miles

My car stalled as i was starting to accelerate through a busy intersection on the way to work and caused an oncoming car to lock up his tires and swerved to avoid hitting me. The car would restart but not run enough to clear intersection for 10-12 attempts. After clearing intersection i was able to park car and leave it for rest of day. When returning to car it started and ran fine on the way home from work. I continued to drive the car for next 2 days with same failures happening only 1 time a day but not at same time or place with no warning or check engine light. On 3rd day a check engine light occurred and upon reading with obd ii computer is was P2293 fuel pressure regulator 2 performance error. I have since taken the vehicle to the vw shop and they are stating i have a bad electric fuel pump issue in the tank and need to replace it along with the control module at a cost of $900. In addition they are saying my rear main engine seal needs to be replace at a cost of $1600 although not related to stalling issue. They fuel pump i have found very similar issues described on internet with similar years and it is a safety issue. It should be a warranty recall not a user responsible issue. I work for a large global automotive supplier to and no that this failure not acceptable for vw and definitely should not be for its consumers. I called vw customer care and they said they will not do anything for the cost of either repair since it is out of warranty. This will likely be the last vw i will every purchase.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle shut off without warning. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel system failed and code number: P2293 was located. The dealer also informed the contact of two open recalls: nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 18v148000 (air bags). The contact stated that the manufacturer did not notify him about the recalls. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and promised to call the contact back. The contact was not called back. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

2009 VOLKSWAGEN CC with 86195.0 miles

I just bought this 2009 Cc from buena park nissan dealership in california, in february 2015 and put in just 6000 miles. I was driving to work on beverly bl on july 27th when all of a sudden the car just lost power while in motion.Fortunately i was in the outside lane and was able to pull to the side. After checking to see if there was a loose connection to the battery or whatever....I started it and was able to drive 3 blocks to work before it stalled again. I had it towed to my mechanic and was diagnosed with P2293 low fuel pressure. He said it was drive able but that one day it may not start. After that incident the car has stalled 8 other times twice on the freeway and the last one was at an intersection with my wife and my 87 year old mother in law. I had high pressure fuel pump replaced and as the mechanic came to pick me up to get my car it stalled in the middle of an intersection while he was driving. It stalled again before we got to his shop. I decided to check into this issue and discovered that this is a common problem with the Ccs. I have not driven the car in a month and is parked in new century dealership in glendale,ca .After contacting Volkswagen corporate, they asked me to take it to the nearest dealership which i did. Four days later i got an email stating they cannot offer any financial assistance and more so i am responsible for the $130 diagnosis fee. It is only a matter of time before there serious fatalities from this very dangerous situation.

2006 AUDI A4 with 90438.0 miles

Took the Audi A4 quattro to the Audi connection of cincinnati dealership for a check engine light (cel) on p codes P2293 & P0089 which indicates a possible cam follower, cam shaft, and/or high pressure fuel pump (hpfp) issues back on thursday morning april 10th, 2014. Later, i spoke with lee at the service desk who stated that the cam shaft was worn and would be a covered item on this internal Audi campaign; however, he would not be able to get to it until the next business day since it would take a full day to repair pushing it into friday.I received a call friday april 11th at approximately 11:30 a.M. And it was lee stating that the cam shaft would not be replaced due to an oil pressure issue that damaged both cam shafts and engine. He later stated that the engine would have to be replaced that could cost upwards of $8,000.00. I later suspected oil sludge issues that were also on a recall. Yes, the Audi connection did later relent, after stating earlier that they would not perform the work, offering to perform the repairs at a later timeline; a timeline that i could not afford to be without a vehicle and paying on a rental. This particular vehicle; Audi A4 t2.0 quattro 2006 year, make, and model has a history of oil sludge issues and Audiusa has had class action lawsuits on such events- all anyone has to do is to do their research and locate issues concerning the very issues i too have experienced. Below is one similar to mine... "a settlement notice for the vw and Audi oil sludge class action lawsuit will be mailed and published in usa today on or before december 29, 2010. The final approval hearing is scheduled for march 11, 2011."

2006 AUDI A4

On wednesday, april 16th at approximately 5:30 p.M. It was determined by an independent ase certified auto-center in milford, ohio that the engine had good oil pressure however Audi stated that there was engine damage. The cam shaft did show wear and would need to be replaced in order to correct the p codes P2293 and P0089 on the hpfp. I then returned that information back to Audi dealership ? Audi connection in montgomery, ohio where i spoke with the service manager explaining that they did not see any signs of low oil pressure issues and requested them to honor the internalcampaign on the worn cam shaft/cam follower issue. He then refused to honor my appeal and stated that it did have internal damage due to lackof oil pressure showing no evidence only to refuse to discuss this matter any further with me returning back to his office. Then Audi connection did relent weeks later, after stating earlier that they would not perform the work, offering to perform the repairs at a later timeline; a timeline that i could not afford to be without a vehicle and paying on a rental. This particular vehicle type; Audi A4 t2.0 quattro 2006 year, make, and model has a history of oil sludge issues and Audiusa has had class action lawsuits on such events-below is one similar to mine..."a settlement notice for the vw and Audi oil sludge class action lawsuit will be mailed and published in usa today on or before december 29, 2010. The final approval hearing is scheduled for march 11, 2011." since then, while the independent ase certified auto-center in milford, ohio did later discover unrepairable engine damage due to oil sludge issues-known issues to Audiusa. I have paid out of pocket over $9,000 on repairs alone that Audi knew about, but failed to help in any way...Another big business wins again over the common person. I believe that there is more to this issue than we know.

Loss of power and dtc P2293, P0087 in ecm caused by premature wearing of the camshaft follower that drives the high pressure fuel pump. The dtc are referenced in nhtsa item 10025965, and service bulletin number 15-08-05. The camshaft wears through and damages the fuel pump. Outside investigation has determined that this premature wear is caused by an improperly hardened camshaft. This is a manufacturing problem affecting a large number Audi and vw vehicles utilizing the 2.0 engine.
