    On certain trucks equipped with an air release fifth wheel hitch, the inversion valve on the frame may be orientated where contaminants can enter the valve through the exhaust port. as a result, the brake valve may corrode causing it to malfunction and in some cases result in unintended opening of the fifth wheel's locking mechanism. this could allow the trailer to separate from the towing vehicle while underway. also, an air loss could increase vehicle stopping distance and result in a crash causing property damage or personal injury. correction: dealers will inspect and replace the inversion valve if required.
