Recall 2018464

  • CA Recall: Brakes
Certain heavy duty and police/special service vehicles may not have been repaired properly under recall 2016-053 (gm #20760). the brake pedal pivot nut may become loose, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative. if this happens, a driver may be unable to safely stop the vehicle or the brake pedal may interfere with the accelerator pedal. both of these situations could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. correction: dealers will add adhesive to the pivot nut and will reinstall it at an increased torque. note: this condition may result in the "service engine soon" light illuminating, and brake lights may stay on longer than expected.
