• Recall 68294 [USA]: Separation of the ball stud from the socket of the ball joint housing would allow the control arm to collapse and the wheel to fold in causing loss of steering control, possibly resulting in a crash.
  Qualis automotive is recalling certain aftermarket ball joints sold for use on certain passenger vehicles. The socket may have been excessively hardened which could cause it to crack near the retaining ring groove allowing the ball stud to separate under impact load. The subject ball joints were sold as four part numbers, d10945, d10946, g10945, and g10946. The affected control arms, d10945 and d10946, are stamped with the following dates on the ball joints: 134308, 135708, 100109, 102709, 104109, 105509, 107609, 108909, 110309, 113209, and 116609. The g10945 and g10946 are the same part as the d10945 and d10946 respectively. They are labeled differently depending on the aftermarket customer.

  Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. If the rubber boots on the lower lateral arm ball joints of the front suspension were damaged during assembly, dirt and water can intrude. Also, mmc has added the potential of leaking moisture, which can cause the ball stud to corrode.

• Recall 2001062 [Canada]: Steering
  On certain vehicles, the lower lateral arm ball joint can separate due to loss of lubrication. There is a potential for moisture to leak past the protective boot which can cause the ball stud to corrode. This corrosion, acting much like contamination, can also lead to premature wear and separation of the ball joint. This could result in loss of vehicle control and a possible crash. Correction: lower lateral arm ball joints will be inspected for wear and replaced as necessary with newly designed lower lateral arm ball joints. Ball joints that are within the established tolerance will be cleaned and a special sealant will be applied to prevent the intrusion of moisture.

  There are no injuries or fatalities associated with this alleged defect.While conducting this investigation, odi found that the subject cinches meet the load bearing requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard 208, and that many of the reported failures were due to incorrect child safety seat installations. I was not informed of a recall and me and my son were in the vehicle driving and it started hopping almost as if it had hydraulic. I told my son to fasten his seat belt considering we were just leaving the store and pulling onto a busy highway. It continued to wobble and i sped up to get off the hwy and then hen the jumping real high and hard began i was going maybe 45 mph and the axle or ballpoint had snapped causing the car wheel to lock up and cause me to run in the ditch luckily no one was harmed but we were very interested much so shaken up.. At approximately 20 mph on a quite neighborhood street both air bags went off with no accident, big bumps or dips or any other reason. I have photos but do not know how to up load them. *dsy.

Drivers inboard seat belt broke off when my son tried to buckle up in the driveway. Potentially a fatal situation in an accident. The connecting cable frayed. It would not have held in any type of forward accident.

Ii took my car in to have the tires rotated and i was told i need new tires. My tires have only 20k miles and a 60k mile warranty. The tire shop called falken was given the run around for over a week by the manufacturer. I consulted online forums and checked w/ several tire shops and was told that the falken ziex 912's had wear problems and that falken had cut the warranty to 40k miles and they wouldn't sell them. Consumer reports highly recommended them in 2010 which is why i bought them. Many people online only had them last a few months and one lady i recall 6 months and all got no held or relief from falken. Why weren't these recalled and pulled from sale? Falken told the dealer i would need to buy new tires and then they'd consider maybe reimbursing me a small amount. I am disabled on a fixed income and cannot do this and i do not trust falken or their brand. I need tires for my car now and don't know what to do.

When applying brakes after pulling into a parking space, engine stalls. Sometimes engine (car) stalls when stopped at traffic light or stop sign or stopping before backing out of driveway into the street. No codes show up on the car computer. Alarm system will activate multiple times automatically while the vehicle is park. When driving, the doors will luck and unluck multiple times and all the interiors lights will turn on and off at the same time the doors will luck and unluck.

This morning at approximately 8:00 a.M. Central, my husband and i were awaken to our car horn blaring. I am quite sure that all of our neighbors are now awake as well. We tried to turn it off thinking it was the panic button, but turn out that it was the horn. My husband had to press on it repeatedly to make it stop. He gets out of the vehicle, and as soon as he shuts the door, it start blaring again!!! He then leaves the car door open and starts the vehicle to heat up the engine, since we had freezing temperatures the last couple of nights. It wasn't until the engine was warm that he was able to shut the door without it going off again. I googled the problem online and found that many others have had the same issue with this type of vehicle and some have experienced the horn going off while driving!!!! I also have read where the dealerships are not taking responsibility for this problem, as it should be a recall issue and covered 100%!! It is very annoying and embarrassing, but also a danger if it occurs while people are driving!!!!!! *tr

All seatbelts in the car have stopped functioning. It started with the belts randomly locking, whether driving or not. Now, i have to keep clips on the belts to prevent them from fully retracting. *js

On 6/18/13, i noticed that the driver's seat latch (the receptacle portion) was being pushed between the seat and the center console when i attempted to buckle. The fourth or fifth time it did this, the entire buckle broke off. Upon inspection, the wire cable connecting the seat belt latch and the anchor had broken. The anchor was still securely bolted to the seat. I have contacted a dealer and chrysler, to no avail. *tr

Car horn keeps going off at random times, while driving and not driving. Looked up on internet and very well known issue, part is extremely expensive, only alternative is to pull fuse for horn out, but in doing so the air bags are also disabled. *tr

There a recall on 10-13-2009 for bad ball joints. I bought the car in 12-2010 never got a recall notice on ball joints. On nov-16-2012-we were driving with my 9 yr old and 10 year old with no warning the ball joint broke on driver side wheel . Car went out of control we almost hit two phone poles the car went into a field. The wheel is now hanging off car not driveable. Nobody was hurt it could of been worse. Will chrysler still have honor this recall to fix my car being the recall was 3 yrs ago if i knew there was a recall i would of had this fix. *tr

The following problem concerns the seatbelt restraint system ".The seatbelt control module" has failed on our 2000 chrysler sebring 1. This vehicle is not driven on a regular basis and after setting for a period of time the battery was low requiring jump starting. 2. Two dealerships checked out what was draining the battery and was told there was no problems with the car. 3. With the battery ground disconnected and an ammeter between battery ground and chasis ground my initial reading was .06 amps,. 4. With this same test setup in place the doors were opened and then closed the ammeter read .5 amps draw on the battery after the control for the interior lights timed out. Note:the initial breaking of the ground disguised the problem. (maybe why dealerships did not detect the problem) . I proceeded to pull fuses until i discovered the .5 amp drain went away when the fuse feeding the seat belt control module was pulled. I have not yet had our car repaired however appearances are that the module is defective. This problem may never have showed up had the car been driven on a regular basis keeping the battery from getting too low to start the car. Even with the fuse pulled the seatbelts could be used as normal which we did several times before they locked to where they could not be retracted. What little research i have done tells me this module has many safety functions besides just reminding us to fasten the seat belts. The impact sensor is a component of the seatbelt control timer module (sctm) located under the center console. The g-sensor is sensitive to frontal impact and to a roll or pitch or more than 45 degrees and to acceleration or deceleration equal to or greater than 0.7g in any direction. In closing my concern is that there are many cars being driven daily with the owners unaware of a malfunctioning "seat belt control module". *tr

My wife owns a 2000 chrysler sebring jxi convertible. On september 6., 2011 my wife was leaving for work and when she went to buckle her seat belt the entire seat belt's female recepticle (driver's side) broke off in her hand (the entire cable snapped). Upon inspection we discovered the cable that bolts the recepticle to the seat frame had broken in the middle where there is very little binding or bending. We called chrysler customer service and they stated it "wasn't covered under warranty...." my wife took the vehicle to our local chrysler dealership and they told her it would cost $300 to replace it. As a temporary fix i moved the seat belt recepticle from the front passenger side seat to the to the driver's side since it's illegal in missouri to drive without a seat belt. We feel there shouldn't be a warranty period for safety equipment on a vehicle - if a part fails through no fault of the owner the manufacturer should replace their substandard parts, especially when it's a defective part that could cost the occupants of the vehicle their life. After doing an online search we found we weren't alone in seat belt recepticles breaking on chrysler sebrings. Within 10 minutes of my search i found 5 complaints describing the same malfunction or defect - one mentioned the problem was discovered after an accident where "severe head injuries" resulted. The complaints i read online started with the model year 2000 and go through 2005. My wife is afraid to drive the car for fear of the seat belt recepticle i moved to the driver's side failing in an accident. If i get one from a junkyard to save money on the repair who's to say it won't break in an accident too resulting in serious injury or death? *tt

I was lucky to be in a parking lot when this happened and i don't want to imagine what would have happened on a highway! There was no warning at all, no light coming on, nothing, and the brake pedal just collapsed completely. I will have to take the car to the garage on tuesday. 2000 chrysler sebring convertible jxi - seatbelts malfunction seatbelt retractor locks up (both seats at the same time) so the seat belts cannot be used. Intermittent problem but very problematic. I have replaced the seatbelt fuse. I have consulted with a chrysler service dept. Technician who stated that replacing the retractor would be $508 per seat but couldn't guarantee that this would be the solution. The seats belts will lock and you cannot loosen them. If you are just entereing the car you cannot put them on.

On my chrysler sebring (2000), the driver and passenger seatbelts are not performing correctly. Either they both lock and can't be deployed, or they both can be deployed and buckled, but then lock in place, even while the car is sitting parked with no brake application. When i start the car, i never know which way the belts will perform, but mostly they just lock in place. Since both driver and passenger seat belts behave identically, it must be some mechanism that controls both seat belt mechanisms. This is a dangerous failure of a safety feature. *tr

A mechanic stated that the front ball joints needed to be replaced. Nhtsa campaign id number 00v21002 (suspension:front: control arm:lower ball joint) was referenced. The vehicle was taken to the dealer in may of 2001 and was inspected for the safety recall at that time, but no repair was made. The failure mileage was 56,184. Unexpectedly, the vehicle began to steer in one direction without assistance. The contact was required to exert greater force to turn the steering wheel. The vehicle was inspected and repaired by a certified mechanic, who stated that the failure was related to the tie rod ends. I've been having problems with the brakes of my 2000 sebring shortly after i purchased it from star chrysler in glendale ca. It only had 14,800 miles on it. I'm the second owner. I can't really hit my brakes and they wear out really fast. Chrysler did nothing about this. These brakes are defective, unsafe and poorly designed. I constantly have to replace them. It's very frustrating. I have to put my car in low gear to go down hills and off ramps so the brakes don't wear out. Also, my sending unit disabled at 84,000 miles. I now have to count the gallons of gas and track the mileage so i don't run out of gas. Very dangerous. Chrysler again did nothing. This is a computer related and should not have failed at 84,000 miles. My distributor failed last week at 107,000. This should not have failed. I called chrysler and they told me the only way they could give me assistance is if i towed it to the dealership. It was a total lie just to get me in there to spend $. They wanted $1500. Chrysler notified me the next day to tell me i wasn't getting any assistance due to being out of warranty. This cost me 2 unnecessary tows from aaa. I had to tow it again to another mechanic which used up my last tow with aaa. I had to tow it also when my gas gauge disabled. Chrysler is very unethical to it's consumers and failed miserably in the quality of their vehicles. *nm

I was driving my car and it started making a real loud squeaking noise like the front end was coming out from under it. I took it in and got a couple of quotes on it. All 3 of the mechanic's told me i needed to get my lower ball joints & control arm changed. Both the passenger and the driver side of my car were bad. I had never gotten a recall notice in the mail. I have owned this car for over 2 years. Finally i took it in on monday, july 3, 2006 and had to replace both sides. It ended up costing me over $475.00 for parts and service. *nm

After taking my 2000 sebring convertable out of the winter garage storage both front seat belt would not pull out. They are locked inside the seat assembly and unable to be extended or to bucke-up the driver and passenger. Looking on the internet i found this was a common problem that has been filed on this site as well as other auto troubleshooting sites. Both associated fuses were checked and found to be ok. There is a seat belt module between the seats under the console that is part of the circuit and i thought that it would be a good bet to try a new one. A ri crysler dealer refused to allow me to try the fix without purchase of the "electronic" part so i gambled $135 and lost. This was not the solution. A few sites provided stories of dealers proposing diagnostisc and repair esttimates up to $1000 for this problem. I have a hunch that there are hundreds of sebrings with non-functioning seat belts and folks not able to justify spending $1000 to unstuck the seat belt. Ri seat belt law is now manditiory. I am a lawbreaker if i drive my car in for a reapair. I have had a very bad experience with one chrysler dealer and am fearful of another. If i knew how to fix this problem myself it would be done but this is a mystery at this point. I am an engineer and can fix most anything so this is not a simple issue.

Fuel pump shorted out. After the fuel pump was removed from the gas tank, it was noticed that the wire harness was melted at the wire connector inside the tank. There was also some exposed wires on the outside of the fuel pump at that same wire connector. No work has ever been performed in this area. *jb

This is an expensive repair, so my door handle is still broken. Furthermore, today july 16, 2005 , i went out to my car and i had to like always get in on the passenger side , because i cant open the drive side door, i went to grab the handle and it malfunctioned and broke off right in my hand! The chrome wheels on my car are flaking apart. A technician at the store where i recently purchased tires indicates that the wheels no longer are safe.

There was a slight shake in the steering. Upon checking the left tie rod end was loose. After replacing the tie rod a check, by cutting the boot, revealed the ball and socket had dissintergated. This looks similar to those tie rod ends on the ram. It looks like there was no lubrication in the joint or that the whole thing was made of wroght iron and not steel. I would take a quick guess that one good jar would have dislodged the ball from the socket. The right hand tie rod end has some play in it. The boot looks in good shape with no holes.

She contacted the dealership, and they told her that they will get her an extended warranty for the vehicle even though she purchased it without an extended warranty. . They will not tell her what was wrong with the vehicle which was at the dealership. They did tell her that the engine was out. The consumer felt that the dealership did not do any safety checks. Chrysler told her that it appeared that the car was never looked at the dealership. The dealership told her that if she did not want to keep the vehicle that they would replace the engine with one that was real cheap and resell the old one to someone else. They purchased an extended warranty in her name, and dealership indicated they needed to collaborate that she needed an extended warranty. *ak

Dt: 2000 chrysler sebring, the wheel fell off while the consumer's daughter was driving 25 mph in a neighborhood. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic who determined that the a frame had cracked. The wheel was the passenger front wheel. She heard a grinding sound before this happened. She did hit another vehicle and both vehicles were damaged. The police did respond, but did not file a report. Daimler-chrysler sent an inspector and told them it was not fault of the manufacturer. They would not show her the report and if she wanted to do anything further she would need to get a lawyer. The vehicle had been serviced in february 25, 2005; it had a brake inspection and other brake work done. *nm

The bolts that hold the front end frame on keep coming loose and i only know this when i start feeling and hearing a rattling sound while driving. Vvehicle was at dealer for servvice at 99,500 miles , asked to check over for any problems which may be corrected as warranty was about to expire. None. At 114,000 miles transmission locked up at 60mph highway, able to slide 3/4 off roadway. Repair is trans needs rebuilt ($1700) due to pin walked out of place.

While jacking up the vehicle jack failed and vehicle collapsed to the ground. No injuries reported. Consumer summoned roadside assistance to change the tire. Then, consumer drove vehicle ton dealer, and mechanic determined that the jack needed to be replaced. *ak

While driving the brakes locked up. *nm consumer pulled out of the driveway an proceeded to drive forward when the back brakes locked up causing the vehicle to stop dead in the middle of the main street. Vehicle obstructed the main road. After a long towing ordeal the consumer was told by the mechanic that a tie rod was broken. Vehicle repairs on this issue was covered on the warranty but two years earlier not at the time of failure. The consumer stated that the vehicle will stay at the dealer until this is resolved or until consumers council states otherwise. *tc

I have had several problems with the sebring i purchased on 09/27/2000. First the blower for the heater and air conditioning went out. The resistor was replaced in my car a total of 4 times at pat berrang chrysler in waynesboro va. The fifth time i took the car to pep boys and they found a short in my blower motor which was causing my resistor to short out. Chrysler supplies the blower motor after many futile attempts at trying to get them to find out what the problem was. I had asked them when the resistor went out the second time if it could be a possible short somewhere that was causing this and was told that was not possible. After many threats i finally got them to replace the blower motor and i had to pay for the labor. They said since the car was no longer under the original manufactures warranty that it was basically not their problem. The second problem i had with the car was that there was a shake when you stepped on the brakes and i had to have my rotors turned. The third problem i had was when the fuel pump went out and i had to fight with the dealership for a replacement car since they had mine for two weeks. The problem i am having now is that the transmission is completely out on my car. It was just towed this morning to a transmission shop in charlottesville. I contacted daimler chrysler about the car being only three years old and the transmission blowing in it. I was told that it is not under warranty and it has 95,000 miles. So you?Re saying that chrysler vehicles do not last past 95,000 miles. The man named johnathan argued with me on the phone about how chrysler makes dependable vehicles. I told him that my mother?S 1991 ford tempo has 170,000 miles on it and the transmission has never went out on that. He said all he could do was note my complaint and he hung up. I want this to be documented in case there are others out there are having the same problems with their transmissions that i am having.

My 2000 sebring convertible top is falling apart - not from wear and tear, but from a defect in the seams and glue used to attach the back window. I have reason to believe that the security system on my 2000 chrysler sebring lxi is malfunctioning and causing the car to not start. I have had several occasions where the alarm goes off and i am getting into my trunk or even in the car and driving down the road. After the car's security system has been set, i am experiencing difficulty starting the car. If i don't lock my car it starts just fine. The dealership told me i needed a new electronic distributor. But i feel it may be the security system not allowing the car to start as it is malfunctioning. Are there any other complaints of this kind out there? *ph

Now told it is the electronic distributor and the part is $720 and labor $200! Chrysler says not covered under warranties. Refuse any help. I don't believe this part should have gone bad already. This is a leased vehicle and i don't feel i should have to pay for this repair. I understand tires, batteries, belts, etc. But not electronic distributor. Vehicle was purchased with an interior rearview mirror with electronic shading for night driving. The shading function has decreased and the shading area of the mirror has decreased in area. In other words, the shaded area of the mirror only covers part of the mirror surface. *nlm

The consumer bent forward to engage the passenger side front lever to gain access to the back seat. When the lever was pulled the front seat back rest hit the consumers face and head with tremendous force. The force resulted in a mild concussion, whiplash, constant head pain, dizziness, and vision impairment when the head is turned. I am the not soo happy owner of a 2000 chrysler sebring jxi convertible. The latest problem with this poor excuse for reliable transportation is that now none of the 3 keys that came with the car are able to turn the lock cylinder even when all other prerequisites are enabled. Aaa sent out a locksmith who provided me with a new key which must be used in conjuction with the origainal computer chip keys, but unfortunately this has not resolved the problem. The locksmith indicated to me that he is called out for this same problem for many chrysler models and advised me to check for a mfg recall, which i have not been able to determine if there is one for this problem. He also indicated that the problem is because of a defect in the lock cylinder. I hope this helps you in your efforts. Thank you.

Vehicle leaking transmission fluid, dealer stated that they tried a new gasket on transmission switch assembly. Leak persisted, dealer stated switch (or valve) was bad but there was a nationwide backorder of at least 10,000 units. I was allowed to take vehicle but made aware to check transmission fluid often. There is no tsb out on this problem even though it is a fairly common problem. Dealer will honor the warranty whent he valve comes in.

Nar 1/15/2003. The consumer was unable to get the abs to activate or the wheels to lock up on dry pavement. The consumer stated on wet surfaces, the problem was magnified because when the abs did activate, it reduced the brake pressure to the point that they were completely useless. *jb

Rear defrost does not work was taken into dealer and was told that it worked because the light on the switch turns on but it still does not defrost, front brakes make squealing noise must put new brake pads on every 2 months because the rotors get too hot and the pads get glazed , car has been taken in at least twice for each of these and the problems still are not fixed. *nlm

On 7/26/02 i was coming to a stop at a traffic light and heard a thudding sound coming from somewhere below my right foot. The engine died when i came to a stop and would not start again. There were no other sounds. There was no electrical responses. My car was towed to my local firestone dealer and i was told that the pulley that moves all the electrical peripheral belts had broken off. The auxiliary belts snaped and one of them went through the plastic cover (housing) of the timing belt. They called chrysler service (powertrain care plus) and was told that they would not pay for any work so far done and should have the car taken to a chrysler dealer. The car was towed to ourisman chrysler. They tore down the engine and tried to rebuild it. Too much damage was done. The called the service contract (daimler/chrysler) people who said that the damage was caused by something external to the power train and they would not pay for it. I was told by the service manager that the cost of a new engine installed would be $8,000. They said new not remanufactured. I found that out later. I shopped around and found a service group that specialized in installing remanufactured engines and they said " it would cost $4900 installed with a 3 year, unlimited mile warrenty including parts and labor". I tell this to chrysler and they say that this is impossible. They cannot get their "remanufacatured" engine for as little as that. I need your help. I have been deceived by chrysler about the engine, about how much "i" would have to pay to replace the engine and what the service contract covers. The pully that they say is not part of the power train is run off the power train to generate the electricity to run the starter for one and many other components that make the car go. I have taken very good care of my car and paid a good price for the power train protection. I should not have to pay any more because of their malfunctioning product. Can you assist me?

Headlights do not work. Each time when consumer has to blink headlights, all of the electrical system fails. Also, dealer in her area was giving consumer a hard time in repairing electrical problem.*ak

I was driving down a two lane damp road at approximately 50 mph. The tail end of the car started to fishtail, and i went off the road, through some bushes, and head-on into an oak tree. Neither air-bad deployed. I would guess that i was traveling about 40-30mph at the point of impact. I was wearing my seat belt, and only suffered bruised knees, and sore stiff neck.*ak

After repairing the brakes eight times manufacturer was notified, but did not offer assistance because of the warranty. Every four months the brakes, pads, and rotors have been serviced or replaced. *ak the consumer was told by chrysler that her vehicle could not be repaired properly and preprare to fix her vehicle every four months. *tc

Left front outboard brake pad apparently sepatated from the backing plate while stopping in a parking lot. There was no advance warning noises. When completing a stop, i felt a pulse in the brake pedal. When i returned to the car and started home the brakes were grinding very bad. Icontinued home slowly and the next morning pulled the wheels and brakes in the garage. The left outboard backing plate had no braking material at all. There was no residual as is usually present on a worn out pad, just the rivets and backing plate. The pads have wear indicators that hadn,t given any warning so i think it was a sudden failure. Except for an early brake job i had no real damage(brake warranty is 12 months12k). Hopefully this is an isolated incident but i am notifying ntsb in case any trends develop. *ak

I have a 2001 chrysler sebring convertible with exactly the same problem: the horn goes off whenever it wants to. The first time it completely burned out both of the horns, which i had to pay for to be replaced, since the vehicle was long out of warranty. Of course, the horn always activated itself in the middle of the night. The chrysler dealer diagnosis revealed that the horn switch is somehow defective, something i figure out after banging on the pad during one scenario only to discover this caused the horn to turn off. The horn switch is designed as some sort of membrane and is non-conventional by any means. Temperature expansion and contraction causes the two side of the switch to connect on their own. To add insult to injury, you can only replace the switch if you replace the entire airbag assembly, a part which is quite costly. So, instead of paying the over one grand repair cost for something that is obviously a manufacturing defect, i wired in a switch to the side dash fuse compartment in between the horn relay and the connector and mounted the switch in the center of the panel door. Now, when i leave the vehicle, i simply throw the switch and my horn worries are over. A hassle? Maybe, but at least i don't have to run out to the car in my underwear in the middle of the night to tap the steering wheel pad to stop that infernal blaring of the horn. This should have been a recall by chrysler--which it never was--as the switch design is defective. Slipshod engineering is my analysis. Chrysler should be liable for the repairs but they assume no responsibility, probably because this model has so many electrical, computer, and alarm issues that they would have gone broke fixing all of them. My dash lights go on and off at random and i'm also having alarm and key fob issues. I really love my convertible, but i'll never buy another chrysler product. *tr

Both front tires have gone completely flat. Tire dealer stated that this is due to alloy rims contracting with the low profile tires. One was a newly replaced tire, the other tire had 11,00 miles on it. The right wheel is slightly bent, and i am told that this cannot be repaired and this could cause an incomplete seal around the bead/rim. I am currently checking tire pressure every two weeks, and most recently had pressure as low as 10 psi on rear right, and 15-25 on all others. Tire dealer stated this problem is due to combination of aluminum rims and low profile tires. This appears to be quite an unsafe combination if he is correct. After being cut off by another vehicle, my vehicle crashed into a guardrail head_on and i was going about 60 mph, and upon impact neither air bag deployed.*ak

The seat belt male part does not always stay attached when inserted into female end. There have been numereous occasions when the seat belt just popped out while i was driving. Last august while driving to florida the drivers side seat belt popped out and i could not get it to work for a whole day. I complained to the dealership in colorado springs (lithia colorado springs jeep chrysler plymouth, 719-475-1155) took my vehicle in. They could not get it to act up so they said they could not do anything. I complained to the manager, called the co attorney general, chrysler home office and no one would help, said they would do nothing. I'm still having problems with my seat belt attaching properly. The dealer i listed, is who we purchased the car from. The dealer who has done all the repairs and checking is in colorado springs, @ 1250 s nevada ave. (719)475-1155. Consumer states that the defective bent rims caused a total of three tire blowouts between the months of september 2001 and january 2002. *yd

While braking, a squeaky noise comes from left rear, dealer contacted, replaced rear parking shoes and rotors, consumer still have a problem parking on a hill, would have to pull the emergency brake very hard to get it to hold. Consumer also stated that convertable top is noisy when coming uo to close. *et

All four aluminum wheels were causing loss of air, due to deoxidizing of wheels. Dealer/manufacturer were notified. *ak *yd

While traveling 55-65mph on freeway with top down part of the device that houses hard top fell off into street, resulting in debris flying onto on coming and proceeding trafic. Consumer contacted dealer prior to this for same problem. Please provide furthur details. *ak

Upon depressing brake pedal to make a gradual stop, pedal went to the floor, causing extended stopping distance and vehicle went through a stop sign. Dealer unable to determine problem. *ak *slc

Car was not designed with a rim above windows to catch rainfall. When it rains, if you open the window a crack, the water pours in all over the seat and floor. *ak

The front brake inner pad came apart all at once and caused the brake pedal to feel as if it sank to the floor. A loud grinding sound was heard and we parked the vehicle. Upon investigation, i found the inner pad lining completly missing and the plate rivits gouging the disk rotor. Maybe the lining was cracked and it finally let loose? I didn't hear any of the associated "squeaking" you normally hear when disk brake pads are getting worn. The outer pad looked good. $300.00 later, i have new front brakes. *ak

Srs airbag light came on. Dealer ran diagnostic test and replaced entire airbag system. Airbag light is still on, and dealer has no other solution.*ak

Swerved to avoid another vehicle, total loss of steering control, crashed into guardrail. Vehicle totaled.*ak

2000 chrysler sebring.*mr the vehicle went over a railroad crossing causing damage to the front and rear passenger side tires and rim. Torque bar was damaged also. *cb

Could not turn left, only right. Diagnosed with broken gear in rack & pinion. Entire rack & pinion needed to be replaced. *ak

Consumer was driving about 60 mph and lost control of vehicle, hitting another vehicle, and flipping off road. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed.*ak

Molding for driver's side and passenger's side doors is melting causing water to leak inside the vehicle. The dealer has been contacted but refuses to remedy free of charge, when the power windows are down half way the appear loose and rattle. *ak *nlm

Consumer was backing out, put vehicle in drive, and vehicle would only go back. Consumer tried 4 times, same result. On last try, she backed into a parked vehicle. Had vehicle towed to dealer, who could not find a problem. Also, contacted chrysler who sent an individual to examine vehicle. Chrysler will mail her whatever they found out.*ak

Rim on the rear passenger side has a groove on the inside which causes tire not to create a seal, resulting in slow leak in the tire. This caused tire to rub against rim. Dealership gave owner a new rim, but could not replace the tire. Goodyear would not replace the tire. *ak *slc

After being cut off by another vehicle, consumer's vehicle crashed into a guardrail, and air bags did not deploy, and then vehicle caught on fire. *ak

Oily film is blown on the windshield and through out the car from the defrost vents. This build up is continous while the a/c is on during the summer months. The dealer can not identify the problem or know how to fix it.

Driver's restraint jammed. Dealer has inspected vehicle, and ordered replacement part. Part was on back order.*ak

Driver's seat belt will not retract properly, leaving occupant without any retraint if needed. Dealer notified, and is awaiting on part since the above incident date. . *ak consumers said that seat belt works but the one installed is a rear seat belt lies on a side of a seat back chewing and jams between seat back. *yh

The front passenger seat is designed to return to its previously locked position after being folded and moved forward to allow entry/exit of rear passengers. The return to previous locked position is supposed to be done without further disengaging the seat locking lever. Instead, it is necessary to disengage the folding seat lever, fold the seat back to a new position, and then re-engage the seat lock. As the shoulder of the seat belt is anchored to the top of the seat, there will be no seat belt protection should the seat back disengage at a sudden stop. Since the seat back lock mechanism is obviously not working properly according to the owner's manual, the risk of seat back unlocking is seriously increased. By their indifference to my operation of the vehicle despite this defect, the dealer has demonstrated ignorance of the risk just described. In addition, the dealer at first minimized the repair problem. Then failed to repair it. Then ordered "the wrong part". The car is with the dealer today, having informed me that my car is ready to be driven away by me until the new part arrives. The vehicle was delivered in this condition, presumably after a dealer safety inspection. I suggest inspection of chrysler records for similar complaints. *ak

Vehicle experiencing problem with right side caliper locking up while pulling into parking lot. Dealer notified.*ak

The key was removed from the ignition while the vehicle was engaged in the drive position. As a result, the vehicle rolled back. The consumer had to jump back into the vehicle to prevent any type of collision. *ak the defect was noticed shortly after purchase. *sc the dealer fixed the problem fee of charge.*jb

Chrysler sebring 2000 , vehicle just won't start. *bf the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for this issue. Electrical wire were replaced along with a new computer and tune up but the problem recurred. The brake rotors failed , the alarm operated erratically, the doors won't unlock, the horn doesn't work and the radiator was blocked. *nm

The dealer refused rental car during recall repair 00v-652. Nlm

Consumer stated there is a vibration in the front end of vehicle.*jb

Consumer has been experiencing problems with the tires that came from the factory. They keep losing air. The tires are goodyear. As soon as the vehicle neared 20000 miles one of the tires blew-out while consumer was in motion. The reason the tire blew was because it was worn due to an improper alignment.*goodyear tires *jg

When driving driver' s side seat latch, which holds the seat in the upright position, failed causing the seat to recline in the rest position. Consumer has contacted the dealer, dealer has yet to replace parts. Please provide any further details. *ak

While driving 30-40 mph went to apply the brakes they locked up. Rpms were racing up to 6000. Took to dealer, had brake repaired. Problem still not remedy. Please provide any further information.*ak
