• Recall 88278 [USA]: In the presence of an ignition source, a fuel leak could result in a fire.
  Certain airtex fuel pump module assemblies, p/n e7081h, sold for use as replacement equipment for the vehicles listed above. The wall of the flared fitting of the fuel pump is not thick enough to prevent the mating threaded fittings from bottoming out before an adequate seal is achieved. This condition may result in leakage of fuel at the connection of the vehicle fuel line and the fuel pump module assembly.

• Recall 37146 [USA]: Fuel restriction could result in loss of power and/or engine stall, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
  Certain tigas fuel pump modules manufactured between june 1 and september 24, 2006, sold under various brand names and p/nos. These fuel pump modules are sold as aftermarket for use in certain daimlerchrysler vehicles listed above. Silicone material used in manufacture of the flapper valve was out-of-specification, leading to excess swell of the flapper valve restricting the flow of fuel to the fuel pump module.

• Recall 3412 [USA]: This condition could cause the lower lateral arm ball joint to separate, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. this campaign supercedes mmc's previous safety recall campaign, see 99v-066.
  Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. If the rubber boots on the lower lateral arm ball joints of the front suspension were damaged during assembly, dirt and water can intrude. Also, mmc has added the potential of leaking moisture, which can cause the ball stud to corrode.
  dealers will inspect the lower lateral arm ball joint for wear. Ball joints that exhibit wear beyond the established tolerance will be replaced with newly designed lateral arm ball joints. Ball joints that are within the established tolerance will be cleaned and a special sealant will be applied to prevent intrusion of moisture.

  dealers will inspect the ball joint end housing cover seal for leakage with a high pressure air tester and the rubber boot will be visually inspected for damage. If the cover seal leaks or the boot is damaged, the lower control arm will be replaced.

  On certain vehicles, the lower lateral arm ball joint can separate due to loss of lubrication. There is a potential for moisture to leak past the protective boot which can cause the ball stud to corrode. This corrosion, acting much like contamination, can also lead to premature wear and separation of the ball joint. This could result in loss of vehicle control and a possible crash. Correction: lower lateral arm ball joints will be inspected for wear and replaced as necessary with newly designed lower lateral arm ball joints. Ball joints that are within the established tolerance will be cleaned and a special sealant will be applied to prevent the intrusion of moisture.

Sackey submitted a petition to the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa) by letter dated april 18, 2003, requesting that nhtsafurther investigate the defective collapsible steering shaft system on 1987-1995 vehicles manufactured by the daimlerchrysler corporation.In part because of 49 cfr ? 30120(g), nhtsa has decided to limit the scope of the petition vehicles to 1993-1995 models, excluding the 1993 jeep grand cherokee and 1994-1995 dodge ram series trucks that were recalled (93v210 & 96v230) for steering column failure.If the analysis of these vehicles had identified a potential problem, the scope could have been expanded in an investigation.A review of odis data base shows no recent complaints and a lack of a complaint trend concerning the subject issue on the subject vehicles as a whole or by individual models.Therefore, the petition is denied.For details, see federal register notice volume 68, no. 130, july 8, 2003.

My 95 chrysler sebring has a squeaking noise on the passenger side towards the back tires i had it checked out they said the rubber piece on by ball joint is gone so the noise is from the metal rubbing and to be careful cause it can cause an accident if not fixed the balljoint will come off and tires. I also have a problem with my apr's shifting out of control while driving that i've almost had an accident couple times i have no choice but to drive the car that's all i have. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 1995 chrysler sebring. She stated that while driving 10 mph when the whole wheel and the ball joints came off of the axle, the vehicle fell on the ground. The vehicle was towed to a local auto shop to diagnose the failure. The mechanic stated that it was the ball joint cv axle that failed. No repairs have been made. The dealer was contacted and they gave her a case number stating that someone would call her back . Nhtsa campaign id number, 00v421002, suspension front control arm, lower ball joint is related to the failure; however, chrysler stated that they would inform her if the vehicle qualifies. The failure and current mileages were 152,000.

Dt: the injectors leaked. Also, there was a fuel smell in the vehicle. Was not sure what caused the leakage. The consumer found this out when he went to get the brakes repaired. The problem was found on september 26, 2005. The smell had been their for at least six months off and on. There have been no accidents as of yet. The vehicle has not been repaired as of yet. *ak

I wish you would recall the fuel rail which connects to my chrysler sebring lxi 2.5 coupe,why, because it could cause a fire with just a spark it also leaks and i have my kids to think about. From what i've been told this happens to a lot of sebrings. I'd rather file a complaint before something terrible happens rather then wait till its too late. *nm

While driving vehical suddenly lost control due to lower lateral arm of suspension breaking on passenger's side which in turn caused extensive other damage to suspension...Etc. Replaced cv boots, also noticed damage to other parts. Recently learned about recall and would like more info on how to have repairs performed.*ak

While driving front driver's side tire detached from the vehicle due to a broken lower ball joint. Vehicle was towed the dealer, but has not been repaired. *ak

While driving 10 mph front upper ball joints snapped. This caused a vehicle collision. Dealership was notified,but did not resolve the problem. *ak

While traveling on the highway and with prior warning the left wheel bearing hub wasn't lubricated and caused excessive wobbling of the wheel. *ak there was excessive heat due to lubrication failure. *scc *jb

On 06-28-03 i was driving my car at a speed of 35 mph, while driving my lower ball joint broke and my car lost controll. I was later informed of the recall on the lower ball joint, which i was never informed of, and was never repaired. I took my vehicle directly to a chrysler dealership on that same day 06-28-03. They have had my car for over three weeks now and i have yet to be informed of what will exactly happen as far as repairs go. There was significant body damage not to mention any other damages that happened while my car was dragging on the ground. I have been getting the runaround by the company even though this is a known recall by them. I would appreciate any help from the nhtsa in resolving this matter in a more timely matter then chrysler is currently. *ak
