• Recall 67336 [USA]: A vehicle fire could occur with or without the engine running.
  Ford is recalling model years 1995-2003 windstar, 2000-2003 excursion diesel, 1993-1997 and 1999-2003 f-250 sd through f-550 sd diesel, 1992-2003 e-150 through e-550, 1995-2002 explorer, 1997 and 2002 mercury mountaineer, 1995-1997 and 2001-2003 ranger, and 1994 f53 vehicles equipped with the texas instruments speed control deactivation switch (scds). The scds may leak internally and then overheat, smoke, or burn.
  ford will notify owners that dealers will install a fused wiring harness in line with the scds. On 1999-2003 windstar vehicles with a leaking scds, dealers will also inspect the abs control module connector and repair as necessary. Repairs will be completed free of charge. • Recall 75519 [USA]: Wheel separation can result in a vehicle crash.
  Certain federal-mogul replacement wheel hub assemblies with the brand names: national, carquest p/nos. 515020, 515021, 515025, 515053, 515054, 515059, and 515060, shipped between january 23, 2006, and december 20, 2007, sold for light duty and medium duty trucks. The inboard retention nut used to maintain hub bearing assembly can loosen resulting in an abs light indication, noise, and/or wheel separation.

• Recall 2492 [USA]: Loss of visibility while driving increases the risk of a crash.
  Vehicle description: passenger cars, sport utility vehicles, and light and medium duty pickup trucks. A switch located in the plastic cover of the wiper motor gear case could malfunction and overheat, potentially resulting in loss of intermittent wiper function, loss of wiper park function, complete loss of wiper function, or ignition of the plastic cover material. Switch malfunction is most likely to occur when the intermittent setting of the wipers is being used, or when snow or ice obstructs the blades from returning to the "parked" position at the bottom of the windshield. These vehicles were built at the following assembly plants: atlanta plant from 2/11/00 through 7/31/00; chicago plant from 2/14/00 through 8/4/00; kansas city plant from 2/26/00 to 9/4/00; kentucky truck plant from 2/18/00 to 8/31/00; michigan truck plant from 2/23/00 through 8/3/00; norfolk plant from 2/21/00 through 7/27/00; wayne stamping and assembly plant from 2/25/00 through 8/15/00; and wixom plant from 2/15/00 through 8/8/00.

This material may be overstressed when the knob is installed on the switch, leading to a later fracture, and in some cases, separation of the knob from the headlamp switch.   By letter dated february 8, 2006 ford notified the agency that ford will extend the warranty coverage of the headlight switch knob to 7 years for certain my 2000 ford excursion vehicles.Ford identifies its action as customer satisfaction program 06n05.The program covers subject vehicles built from october 31, 1999 through january 31, 2000.Ford sent letters to owners february 15, 2006. Sunroof glass flew off the vehicle. It hit a car behind me. Was driving about 60 mph. Happened june 29, 2021 at approximately 10:45 am.

I purchased this truck 3 months ago from mike marooney north. When i got home i noticed it would not stay in park at all. This caused it to roll down the street with my baby in it. I have made over 50 attempts to get the dealer to put me in a safe vehicle or refund the $3200 back. They refuse to call me back or email me. They told me it was fixed after 3 days but it wasnt.

I was driving on the interstate when the first incident happened doing about 65 mph, i noticed my truck started driving funny so i slowed down and i head i loud pop. Knew right then and there i blew a tire on the rear. Had a hard time trying to get to the side of the shoulder. It caused alot of damage to the rear fenders, back bumper, bent my rim scratches all down the side and window. Its was just me and my boyfriend at the time. The 2nd incident happened with 6 kids under the age of 5 in the truck. This time it [xxx] near flipped us. Had a hard time controlling the truck but managed to get it to a safe place. This cause damaged under my truck and ripped my running board and attaches to my rim.So i blew 2 tires that were in good shape that had been checked in 3 days. When i'm driving ar a slow pace, going around corners or backing up slowly to park... The steering is very hard to turn. I've had the power steering pump and gear box replaced and now a year later it's doing the same thing.

Tl* the contact owned a 2000 ford excursion. While driving, the contact noticed smoke coming from the front driver's side floorboard. The driver was not aware of any warning indicators illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road where it caught fire and burst into flames. The fire department extinguished the fire. The vehicle was not driveable and was towed to the driver's residence. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The driver believed the failure was related to nhtsa campaign number: 09v399000 (vehicle speed control); however, she never received a notification. The failure mileage was unknown.
